Time... There just isn't enough time
Not enough time to think of all that has happened
All that will happen
All that could happen.
Jyn walked silently. The pain in her leg ached and the weight of Cassian , struggling with each step, weighing on her. They were both done, this was their last stance. Her eyes looked to the man on her side. He looked pale, barely hanging on.
Cassian...
There were many thoughts and none at all that entered her mind about the Captain. She wasn't even sure what she felt for him. All she knew was that whatever it was, it was there, it was real. But no time left...
It was near late afternoon on Scarif. It was warm, and the smell of death cascaded over the island. She had, perhaps minutes? Seconds?
She had seconds to memorize him.
But even then...
There just isn't enough time,
Not enough time to figure this out.
But this is her end.
With all the hope she could muster,
She believed
It could be worth it,
That short period of time,
It would be worth it.
Time, there just isn't enough of it
Not enough to think of what tomorrow would bring
Not enough to see the result of the effort
All that would happen
All that could happen.
Cassian walked, stumbled, with each step leaning on Jyn as she carried him across Scarif. It was painful, he knew, he wasn't going to make it. He knew that they, were not going to make it.
Jyn
Many thoughts had entered his head about her throughout this journey. Many of which he never delved into, time, was never on his side. And it seems it was keeping up with its tradition. It was something... nothing he could pin down now. They never had enough time to do so but it was real, and it was there. He looked toward the cloud of air and water. Seconds... Minutes? Was that all the time he had?
He would never get enough time
Not enough to really look at her
Never enough time
But he could hope.
And with all that hope he prayed
That their efforts were not wasted.
It would work
They would win
All they needed was Time.
