I was born in the year 2264 in vault 116, one of the few vaults that were made to purely protect its residents and not to conduct some cruel experiment of us. As much as they tought us about the outside world they never told us much about what was happening outside of the vault and when the Overseer, a ruthless power hungry man, found out that someone managed to get ahold on any ideas about what the outside was like they were punished, badly.

I was 18 at the time when my father asked me something, something that might have decided what my future would turn out to be "Sam, the world is a cruel place outside and despite what the Overseer has said about the security and that no one could every get in to harm us its not true, and so me, the commander of security and a few of your friends have all decided it would be a smart idea to at least prepare you for survival in case anything happens, what do you think?" I was at the time believed him, and rightly so as only a few years earlier a explosion so strong shook the vault, so i signed up and only a few days later we were training for survival.

The next day it was Monday and when i woke up, i noticed the odd silence, the rusty smell of metal,
and the fact that my dad wasn't home. While i was getting my Vault 116 jumpsuit, i noticed a note on my desk, wondering how they managed to put it here while i was asleep, i read it "Dear Sam, i left to go help the with fixing the leak in the water storage, i'll be back in a few hours so why don't you head down to the old classroom, i heard that Tom has a surprise for you." Tom was our security commander and always favored me over everyone else. but why their? why would he not just meet me in my room or somewhere else other then the classroom that the Overseer said was off limits. Well regardless i shouldn't keep him waiting it could be important, so i started heading out.

As i opened the door of the classroom i noticed that the lights were off but a barely visible light suddenly turned on, then another one, then another. Then suddenly a gloved hand held my mouth shut and another turned on the lights, that when i realized that the 3 lights were actually my closest friends and the gloved hand was Tom. Once the light was on Tom took his hand off my mouth and i took a deep breath and look around, the room was not anything like a classroom now but rather a training class, and the smell of rust was replaced by the smell of smoke and it was hotter in here. "So whats this?" I asked "well this is where you'll train as you father most likely told you." Tom Replied "So where do i start?"

2 months later...i was sleeping hard from the last training session when i heard knocking of our door, my dad was gone again and so i went to check it, as i opened the door i realized who it was, the Overseer and behind him was 2 security guards, two of the meanest guards there are. "hello boy, i came here to ask you something, do you know of any people who happen to be doing anything against the rule of the vault?" He said, fearing that he might know of the training i replied "no, i have not seen anything like that, but i'll keep my eye out" after he thought about it seemed that my reply was good enough for him and so he said good bye and walked off, guards in tow.

After recovering from my shock of the Overseer potentially finding out i went off to go tell my friends, telling them to meet me in the classroom. About 30 minutes later they arrived and i told them what happened "Oh god, how did he find out? do you think that someone snitched?" Johnson asked. "no i don't that happened i mean dont you think it's wierd that 4 people disappear every week at the same exact time?" i countered, knowing that chance are i was right and that no one would've talked. After talking about it for half a hour we parted ways i returned back to my room to think.
