Chapter 1
A New Born Baby
There was once a poor monkey family who had nothing, but wanted a child. They had a baby monkey about 9 months later. That baby monkey's name was Nikko, who was to become the leader of the flying monkeys pack. This baby monkey had many adventures through the woods. One particular adventure was to find the man who was the happiest man in the whole entire Land of Oz!
He searched and searched but he just couldn't find him. He even went to the Monkey Dairy and couldn't find him there either. He thought and thought and thought. Then, one day he had an idea, he would go into the dreaded wood s where the evil monster lived. Maybe the evil monster himself knew where the happiest man alive was. So, Nikko packed his bags, kissed his mother and father, and set off for a long journey to the dreaded forest where the evil monster named Fred lived.
If I may say, I would think it to be a little scary to go see the evil monster, Fred! But, I am not Nikko. Nikko was a brave little dude.
The little adventurous monkey did not know how to get to the dreaded forest. So, he stopped by the Monkey Dairy and asked Mr. Dairy, "Do you know how to get to the dreaded forest where the evil monster Fred lives?"
Mr. Dairy didn't know how to respond because he had been to see Fred on occasion. So he said, "Little Nikko, I have been there a whole lot, but I couldn't let you go in there by yourself."
Nikko replied, "Then you will go with me, right?"
"I don't know, Fred does not like visitors unless it is me! What are you asking him, my monkey?"
"If he know where the happiest man alive is," Nikko replied with a proud look on his face.
"Oh, well let's see, when are you leaving? You have to give me time to get my things together."
"Today, I hope! But, if you take longer than a day to get ready then I guess we can leave in the morning!"
"That sounds great! Pick you up at your house at 8 in the morning! Be ready for a long journey," Mr. Dairy said just as Nikko walked out of his store. "Sweet little boy, adventurous and dangerous, but sweet," the owner said with a smile that reached his ears.
