A/N: sequel to 'Beautiful Suicide'

He sat, head in hands, tears streaming down the once stone like face, as they announced the news. But he already knew. He was the one who had found her. That fate filled morning, only days ago. His sobs came harder as he recalled the day.

Flashback

"Mione, Mione?" Ron called as he struggled up the dormitory stairs, which had become a slide upon his entrance. Earlier that week he had had a terrible row with her. He had left her, for reasons even he couldn't recall, and now, he was coming to apologize, and beg her forgiveness.

"Mione, please come out!" Ron called, but kept going up. Upon reaching the doorway, he felt very relieved and stepped inside, only to have his relief flee, and his blood run cold.

For there, on the window seat, lay his beautiful Hermione, surrounded by a pool of deep red. He knew immediately what she had done, and rushed to her, praying it wasn't too late. Picking her up he held her as he checked for a pulse, finding none his tears increased.

"Mione, no, please, you can't be dead, no! I'm so sorry I didn't mean what I said! You can't die, Hermione, please, not like this." He collapsed with grief, still holding her body, and that was how Lavender found them, hours later, her shrill scream filling the castle.

End Flashback

So now he sat, listening to them announce her death. He felt and arm about his shoulder, and looked up to see Harry, familiar tears running down his cheeks.

It was announced that her funeral would be held on the grounds the next day. And all where invited to mourn this great loss.

Ron went to the funeral, but to him it was all a blur. Vaguely he remembered various teachers getting up and speaking their peace, all telling about her love for books and learning. He remember seeing students around him with tears in their eyes, for although Hermione did not have many friends, she had touched everyone whose path she may have crossed. She was a very kind and loving person, and it would be questioned forever as to why she did what she had done.

Days later he visited her grave, under a headstone which read-

Hermione Jane Granger

Loving daughter, granddaughter, best-friend and student

Truly the Brightest Witch of Her Age

You will be missed

Crying he confessed his love for her, and his regret for what he had done. He sat there, sobbing, for what must have been hours. Finally his sobs calmed, and he looked up, hearing his name being softly whispered. What he saw shocked him.

There standing, looking for all the world to see alive, was his Mione. Immediately he was on his feet and trying to take him into his arms, but found he could not. He began to trip over his words as he tried to tell her how sorry he was but she held up a hand.

"I forgive you." She said, and as simply and suddenly as she came, she was gone.

Well that's that. R&R
