If it kills me.
Chapter one: Monster

Edward's point of view:

Blood stained my lips. I cringed at the bloody carcass of a once living rabbit in my hands. I was truly sickening. How did I ever come to this? I turned my head from the poor creature. It never really had a chance. I closed my eyes and set the animal on the ground lightly, while covering it with fallen leaves. As much as I despised myself for doing this, it had to be done.

I turned swiftly and disappeared into the shadows. I ran around the dark searching for any sign of thoughts. I was getting close to an open field when I heard a familiar voice.

Edward. I stopped running when I heard my name. Edward. Come here quickly. We found a mountain lion with your name on it. Alice giggled lightly. I just closed my eyes. I wasn't anywhere near full, but I was not in the mood for taking another innocents life. Alice closed her eyes and visions flashed in my head.

A beautiful girl with brown hair. She had a heart shaped face and deep brown eyes. They twinkled in the moon. Her expression looked.. Scared? Worried maybe? The unnamed girl tripped. Why was she running? Some black figure launched at her. It threw itself at her.

I stopped listening to Alice's thoughts when I realized the monster was me. How.. I closed my eyes and kept listening.

I stood over her and my eyes were as black as coal. A loud growling sound came from deep in my chest and I bit down into her skin.

I couldn't listen anymore. I was sure if I could get sick, I would be right now. I growled loudly and ran away from Alice so I couldn't see anymore.

Edward...' was all Alice said. I ran. And ran. And ran...

Then it stopped. The visions were gone. I growled loudly in frustration. I didn't even know her and I had just witnessed me killing her.

I decided I could prevent this. I didn't want to hurt anybody. I was a monster, but I could at least save an innocent in the process. I smelled something delicious in the air. Mountain lion. I closed my eyes and bolted towards the creature like lightning. The animal ran but I was faster. It screamed in agony, then all was silent..
