Really Inopportune Moments
It was romantic really, meeting in secret in empty classrooms.
Percy had been quite proud of it when he saw the endearing blush that it had spread across Penelope's face because of it. At that moment in fact, he was going down the stairs to the empty Potion's classroom where they had planned to meet.
He had a girlfriend. He, prim, proper, rule abiding Percy had a significant other. That ought to make Fred and George green with envy.
Prefect badge agleam he strode happily into the classroom where Penny was waiting for him. She was sitting on a desk, black curls falling into her face and a sweet smile on her face.
'Hello Penny I-" Percy began, with his trademark pomposity. But before he could continue though, she had hopped off of the desk and come up to him and put her arms around his neck.
Feeling slightly flustered Percy began blushing profusely and stuttering, all dignity gone.
Penny looked him in the eyes and said, very simply, "Percy, be quiet."
He was quiet.
As they began kissing, Percy thought vaguely that it would be very bad if someone walked in on them but all rational thought was shoved out of his mind as Penny began to lean further into the kiss.
She removed his glasses and ran her fingers through his flame colored hair as his arms went around her waist. He was about to hoist her up on a desk when he heard a slightly hysterical squeak behind him.
Both he and his beau leaped apart with surprising speed and Percy whirled around gasping. He fully expected to see Professor McGonagall behind him taking one hundred points from Gryffindor and was relieved and very embarrassed to find his little sister standing in the doorway gaping at him.
When Ginny got over the initial shock she began giggling helplessly. Behind him he heard Penelope groan and glanced back to see her bury her face in her hands.
"Ginny, WHAT are you doing here?" Percy spluttered, attempting to retain some semblance of dignity.
Still giggling she began backing to the door and said, "Professor Snape told me to meet him here for detention."
Well, while it was better to be caught by Ginny than Snape he strode forward and caught his sister by the sleeve of her robes before she could get away.
"Ginny, PROMISE me that you won't tell anyone what you saw," Percy pleaded frantically.
"I'll think about it," Ginny grinned at him impishly.
"GINNY!" Percy exclaimed, grabbing her by both shoulders.
Laughing she nodded, "fine, I won't say a word…"
"Good."
"…Except to Fred and George."
" Virginia Moira Weasly you will do no such thing!" Percy protested as Penelope shook her head, face beet red.
At that moment the door opened and Professor Severus Snape stalked in, eyes flashing toward Ginny and then flickering suspiciously toward Percy and Penelope.
"May I ask what you are doing congregating here?" Snape began in a dangerous voice.
"Nothing," Percy mumbled, grabbing his glasses, her badge, and his girlfriend and taking a few steps back from Snape.
Raising an eyebrow Snape sneered, "as much as it touches me to know how popular my classroom is Miss Weasly has a detention to complete for me."
Glancing back at Ginny as he and Penelope made their hasty exit he saw her give him a winning smile that was far too innocent looking for his taste.
He gave it a month before Fred and George found out.
