A Passion for vengeance
It was times like this when I wondered why I had done what I did.
The fact of the matter was that I had sired a being build for revenge. A child whose tormented past would only allow a constant search for power. That was my fault though, I had told the child to seek vengeance, to become stronger by himself, to surpass without the help of others.
I hadn't been expecting this.
We had started battling at kage level, and the fight had escalated far beyond that. I had kept my little brother at bay, by angering him, and using his anger to my advantage. His movements became sloppy, predictable, even my sharingan seemed to be wasted on the pathetic excuse for a being in front of me.
He lunged at me with his kunai.
I snorted, predictable. Sidestepping I caught his wrist. Unfortunately for me, the being turned into mud. Suddenly a giant snake rushed at me from the forest that surrounded the glade. I snorted again. My fire could destroy anything. I used it, the snake was unsummoned.
"Is that all you have brother?" I taunted to the forest around me. Suddenly the sound of chirping birds filled the air. This was the fifth time he'd tried that. I quickly found the source. It was my brother, kind of. Instead of the normal rooster's ass haircut he had long white hair. His skin was a deathly green. In his pitch black eyes, swirled the mangekyou.
That was unexpected. "So, you did kill him?" I asked, though the question was rhetorical.
"He got in the way, the damn demon..." the guttural sound of the pumped boy replied.
He flapped the...things...on his back and took to the sky. He did the hand seals there, so I wouldn't be able to stop him. My eyes widened. I Had only seen that jutsu once before.
"Aniki, what are you doing?" I asked quietly as he landed and smashed his hands into the ground.
"You should know by now, I'll need help killing you. After all, you were second in command of Akatsuki. Orochimaru's techniques won't help me now..."
Suddenly he pulled two caskets up from the earth. Slowly the death boxes opened to reveal two corpses, in perfect condition. One was my father, the other, my best friend. I smirked, he had no idea.
"Kukuku" I cackled. "Sasuke, you are more of a demon than Uzumaki ever was. And you have surpassed me in one way..." I uttered vaguely, though I could tell I was losing my little amount of sanity.
Sasuke looked at me with angry eyes. "What do you mean more of a monster than Uzumaki? He was the Kyuubi you fool!" he growled.
An evil chuckle escaped my lips. "No, he was only the vessel. And besides, you have committed an atrocity not even the tailed beasts would commit. You have raised the dead, desecrated their bodies...and become more of a monster than I will ever be. You are not fit to rebuilt our clan...as you followed the orders of your older brother, a murderer, without question. You fail the test, Sasuke, you lose.
With that, I, Uchiha Itachi, killed the my little brother. With him the bodies of the dead left.
Now that I look back on it I see how foolish I was for making a fool out of my brother. But then again, only a fool has a passion for vengeance.
I turned and quietly left the glade, not even bothering to hide my blood soaked hands.
After all, I had a clan to rebuild.
