I sit in bed with all the lights off except one, trying to make myself tired by reading but it honestly doesn't work. The window slides open as I'm starting to doze off. I stand, and walk toward the window eagerly, pulling my robe on.
Feet dressed in dirty coal covered shoes enter my room, then the most handsome man in the seam slips into my room wrapping an arm around my waist and pulling me to him. He must have gone home to bathe after work because of how clean he is.
His lips meet my neck and I manage to gasp out, "What did you tell your mother…about where you were going?"
His lips don't leave my skin as they murmur, "I left a note that I needed to get some air, don't worry." For me that's impossible, if we get caught I'll be forced out of my relationship with him. My father would kill us both if he knew. Under no circumstance am I allowed to be in a relationship with a boy from the seem especially one who hunts illegally.
Without warning both his hands grab my thighs from behind and he lifts me clean off my feet. I wrap my legs around his waist and his lips press against mine. He somewhat stumbles to the bed and sits down. Nothing happens though, we just kiss. I think that even if I was ready he wouldn't let me even if he has been with other girls. He only kissed me once the first week we spent time together as more than friends, he doesn't want to ruin things by rushing it.
All of the sudden I hear a clanging somewhere close. I freeze above gale's lips and listen. He freezes too and slides me off him. Without making a single noise he stands up and walks into my closet shutting himself in. I'm almost shocked by how silent he is. Hearing footsteps heading towards my door I wrap the comforter around myself and close my eyes, silently flipping off my light. The door creaks open and footsteps approach. My dad's lips press to my forehead and then the footsteps retreat, my door creaking closed.
After a few moments the closet door opens and Gale walks toward the bed. He crouches down to eye level. "I should go, I'll try to come back tomorrow night, get some sleep, goodnight," he whispers. He's gone the next moment climbing out of my window and down the tree.
