Disclaimer: I do not own Jimmy Neutron.

Hello, everyone!

I've been writing JN fanfictions since I was 8-not only one has been posted here, and that was a humorous oneshot. I've had this plot bunny bouncing around in my head for awhile-but I was watching WLK this week (SPRING BREAK! YEAAAHH!), and I was inspired to actually write it. :)

Please enjoy! If you see any problems (grammar, spelling, typos, or even if a part in the story doesn't make sense), feel free to tell me. PLEASE REVIEW! It makes me feel important, and it makes me want to continue to write!

This chapter happens before WLK even begins. Okay, go ahead and read it now. :)

"So, you really like Jimmy?"

Normally, Cindy Vortex would have denied it right away. She would have called Libby insane and delusional. She would finish by asking how it could even be possible, and then change the subject.

But she couldn't now. How could she? Now, after Libby had just admitted to having a crush on Sheen? Now, after loads of sugar and soda? After watching romance movies?

Now, at 4:30 in the morning, Cindy couldn't help but ponder the idea. Libby didn't prod her further, as if not denying the idea itself was a step forward.

"Come on," Libby said. "Let's get some sleep."

The two girls climbed into Cindy's bed. Within a few moments, Cindy heard Libby's soft breathing, letting Cindy know Libby was asleep.

Could she really like him? Now, alone with her thoughts, she could not help but consider the (crazy) notion. Was it even possible?

Scientifically, it was possible. She was growing up—she noticed a guy—it happened when your hormones changed. That was the only reason, right?

But, no. It wasn't.

As time had progressed between them, Jimmy's and Cindy's opinion on each other had begun to change. Jimmy was smart, brave, nice, and cute.

She was going to notice.

Now, Cindy had just taken a step forward and admitted to herself that it could be possible to have a crush on Jimmy. So now what?

What she needed was a sign before she took another step. She needed to be sure that he wouldn't at least turn her down in ten seconds flat. But where? Where could she get a sign?

"God?" Cindy whispered—so inaudible that she could hardly hear it herself. "God?" She whispered again. How were you supposed to start a prayer? Was there something about Him being in Heaven?

Cindy decided to get straight to the point. "I need a sign." She prayed in a whisper. "Something that shows me…"

Show me Jimmy likes me, she thought. And then she remembered God could read thoughts.

"A sign that shows Jimmy…well, wants to be friends?" She said it so uncertainly that she was sure God wouldn't answer her. Didn't the Bible say that faith could move mountains? Either way, she didn't even know if He had heard her.

"A sign," She whispered as she fell asleep.
