Comfort in the arms of a friend

One Shot

Ally sighed, the shop was empty. As empty as her heart. Why had she fallen for Dallas? His hair, his eyes. But really he was heartless. A two month relationship that had been a lie. Dallas had another girlfriend and another. He was a player and now he was alone just like Ally. She'd only gone out with Dallas to get over Austin and now she had neither. She had defended Dallas when Austin had insulted him saying he was cheating on her. Ally hadn't believed him and Austin had left saying he didn't want to see her get hurt. Trish was at her new job and Dez was doing god knows what.

She thought about closing up shop and going writing/singing some sad songs in the practice room but that just made her feel more depressed. She wanted to be cheered up.

She sniffed and reached for tissue to dab away the endless flow of silent tears.

"Ally," whispered a voice

Ally whipped her head up to find Austin leaning against the entrance to Sonic Boom. Concern etched across his face as he watched his best friend cry.

Ally forced her usual cheery smile back onto her face. "Hey Austin what's up?" she asked

"Not much," replied Austin "You?" he added

"Not much," replied Ally

"Ally I've know you for two years now and I know when you're lying. You've crying what's wrong?" asked Austin

"You were right," sighed Ally

"About what?" asked Austin as he crossed the store

"About Dallas," cried Ally her voice cracking on the last word as tears began to pour down her face.

Within seconds Austin had hopped over the counter and was holding Ally in a tight embrace as her sobs racked her body.

"When you say I was right?" asked Austin

"He was cheating and now we're both alone," sniffed Ally pulling back from Austin.

"You're not alone because you have me," whispered Austin pulling her close again. "You will always have me," he whispered

"Promise?" asked Ally looking up at Austin

"I promise, "said Austin

A while later Ally and Austin are sat in the practice room tinkering on the piano.

"Why did you go out with Dallas in the first place?" asked Austin

"Well I had a crush on him. But then I did it to get over you," admitted Ally

"Get over me?" asked Austin

"I may have a tinny crush on you," answered Ally

Austin raises an eyebrow.

"Ok a huge crush what girl wouldn't your Austin Moon" confessed Ally

"So that's the situation," smiled Austin

"What situation?" asked Ally

"The old best friends in love situation" explained Austin
"Hmm," murmured Ally

Austin chuckled knowing his statement hadn't registered in Ally's brain.

"What best friends, friends as in plural," Said Ally

"I'm in love with you Ally Marie Dawson," smiled Austin

"Well the last two months seem pointless," laughed Ally "And for the record I love you to Austin Monica Moon," she smiled

Austin smiled. "Will you let me kiss you?" he asked

Ally smiled shyly and looked up at Austin nodding.

Austin smiled and leaned down capturing her lips and drowning the rest of the world into an oblivion.
