Wrote this in the morning at school because I wanted to. I dun own Xemnas, Saix, or Kingdom Hearts.

It had been terribly awkward when they told each other, and even more so when they tried to get anywhere. Neither of them were experiences, and neither could feel.
Then what was this they were experiencing?
Numerous times they had argued over the topic, nearly resorting to violence when either one of them got irritated. Difficulty to make up is what grew the distance between them.
Xemnas assured Saix he knew what he was doing, and Saix assured Xemnas that he wouldn't get angry with him if he made a blunder again. Both were lying. Xemnas couldn't get by with rank alone; Saix couldn't even think about being angry, let alone at Xemnas for any which reason.
Every day they passed each other in the halls, exchanged awkward greetings or reports or orders. Every night they'd talk, sitting too close for anyone in the vicinity to think they were only friends, coworkers, or partners.
They, against all odds, despite not having hearts and therefore no emotions, loved each other.
Sometimes they crossed a base or two, but nervousness and excitement caused them to stop.
If you could just stay still, Xemnas kept thinking, we could continue.
If you would just slow down, Saix kept thinking, we could get somewhere.
Sometimes they wondered if they even cared anymore.
Even that they couldn't muster.
