Trowa found him kneeling in the snow, drawing figures into the packs of ice with his gloved fingers. He could make out a horse, a car, a tree and the rest of the drawings look nonsensical.
It was getting cold. Quatre shouldn't be playing in the snow. He had been kneeling there for a while, according to Duo.
Quatre should get inside. What if he gets frostbite?
His worrisome words never made it out of his mouth as Quatre suddenly broke the silence first. "You know, back home we never had snow to play in. It's dry and clear all year. Pleasant weather for the crops, father had said."
Quatre let out a laugh for no reason. "Duo mentioned something about making snow angels. Is it like this one here?" He pointed to a small blob-like figure within the chaotic field of tiny holes.
"Not even close." blurted Trowa with raised eyebrows.
Quatre grumbled as he shot him a glare over his shoulder, locks of hair whipping back as a cold breeze brushed past. "As if you can do better."
Trowa smirked, feeling suddenly playful. "Do you want me to show how to make one?"
Quatre didn't have time to defend himself when Trowa pounced, hands pressing Quatre down on his back. He flailed under the surprise attack, hissing and grabbed a fistful of snow to splatter into Trowa's face.
"How dare you!"
The action initiated a snowball fight in the backyard until Duo stepped in to drag them inside the house. Once inside, Trowa pointed to the ground where he had launched the first attack on Quatre. "That's a snowangel."
