A strange owl
The owl swooped gracefully through the air, landing silently on Sarah's outstretched wrist. "Thank you" she said quietly to the bird. It gazed back at her with beautiful, golden eyes. There was a sharp whistle behind her, the owl pricked its ears and flew to the instructors wrist.
"Well done Sarah! Come back tomorrow and you can practice more with Jerry here. You're going to make a first class bird handler one day. The instructor said as he put the owl back into its cage. She handed him the thick leather glove she had been wearing. "You just seem to have a way with birds" He added brightly. She smiled at him, "See you tomorrow" she called as she walked away.
The next day
Sarah held out her hand and whistled. The owl lit on her wrist. She patted it fondly, as it turned its head to look at her with those golden eyes. Except they weren't gold, one was a deep rich brown where the other was as blue as the sea. She was just about to cry out when it winked at her and flew out into the sky, disappearing into the clouds "Jerry!" cried the instructor trying to call the bird back, but it was no use, the owl was gone. The instructor hung his head and walked over the cage, to find a slightly ruffled Jerry, golden eyed Jerry, sitting there.
