Prologue: An Omen, Bound by Sea

"Captain, CAPTAIN!"

"Urgent? Who could have sent such a thing!"

The ship had rocked back and forth violently for the past half hour, but it wasn't the swell and the brine that knocked the brooding captain off balance. The infamous Leviathan was soon to be upon them. The noble captain had spent many a year hunting for this foul Being over the seas, missing valuable time with his dear wife, Haruka. Now, the Terror drawing near, news of the most important person in his life made his heavy heart grow somber.
"Very well… Tatsumaki, get on the dinghy and send word to the Raikage; he'll want to know of this, and…Tatsumaki?"
"Yes, sir?"
"When I am done here, my arrival home will be a little delayed… That's why I want you to take this…" The captain handed his loyal friend a silver bracelet, identical to the one on his left wrist.
"A chakra link…sir…what do you plan to do!"
The captain led his friend to the dinghy and gave him a look of regret and said, "I have realized that it is not within my power to stop the Destruction. However, I now know that I can give that power to another, for a price…"

After lowering the dinghy, the violent waves carried it away like paper. The captain heard a loud screech beneath the surface; the time has come.
"Today, of all days…" The captain lamented. As he saw the massive figure rise out of the sea, he reached into his pouch, and withdrew a small scroll. After a few more screeches and bellows from the Monster, the captain prepared the sealing justu.
