AN: I just love this pairing. Reading them makes me feel like such a hopeless romantic. Writing them, however, just proves that I am one. Here's to you, hopeless romantics.

"I hate Dumbledore," thought Lily as she slammed the door to her private dorm in the head's tower.

When Lily received her Head Girl badge two weeks prior, she was ecstatic. The title was such an honor. Not only would the Head Girl and Boy sleep in their own dorms separate from their Houses, but they also had special privileges, more free periods, trips to Hogsmeade during said free periods, and an extra boost when the time came to have a job after Hogwarts. Of course, there was also the matter of who made Head Boy.

Lily pondered over the possibilities in the last weeks of summer. She was sure that it would be Remus Lupin. He was smart, responsible, kind, attractive; a perfect candidate for Head Boy. So, when Lily pulled open the compartment door to the Heads' compartment, she was so positive that it would be Remus that she was horrified when it wasn't. For instead of Remus sitting there, it was another Marauder entirely. James Potter.

"You!" Lily practically screeched.

"Me?" Replied James, a smile twitching on his lips.

"But how-? Why would-? You're Head Boy?"

James puffed out his chest proudly, his badge glinting in the light. "Yes indeed."

Still flabbergasted, Lily sat down as far away from James as the compartment would allow. Despite James's best efforts as starting a conversation with the fiery red head, Lily stayed stubbornly silent, the air around her sizzling with anger. The entire trip was spent shooting dirty looks his way and plotting the various ways she might kill him.

Lily's cold attitude had no effect on James. With a broad grin and a wicked twinkle in his eye, he continued his verbal prodding. "I love Dumbledore," thought James.

R&R por favor.
