What happens if you shoot a portal into another portal?

Strictly speaking, there isn't any real answer to this question, simply because no one has ever dared to try. But let's say that there won't be any sort of reality-warping or imploding or exploding. Let's assume that nothing apocalyptic will happen. So saying, let's proceed. We shoot a portal on a wall. As we all know, portals are essentially a 'hole' in reality that's leads to another hole AKA. Where you shoot the second portal is the other hole. However, if you shoot only one portal, then there is no hole in reality, simply because you haven't linked two destinations together by portals. If that happens, then the lone portal is basically a round film of energy on a flat plane. It is only when the second portal actually hits a surface and materialises that both the portals will open up, so if you shoot a portal into another portal, it is more or less like shooting it into a normal surface, albeit one with blue energy on it. So technically, the portals will connect and open up like normal.

But this is when anything related to the normal psychics of portals end. Because portals are essentially both entrances and exits, it means that the 'double portal' is both an entrance AND an exit. As some people might be confused, let's put it this way. Since objects don't lose their momentum when they are thrown or are falling through portals, tossing something into the double portal will mean that it instantly bounces back through the second portal inside the first one-and it doesn't lose any speed in the process. This can led to quite a bit of fun, but fun that will defy gravity of any sort-say if you make a double portal on the ground and drop, say, a rubber ball on it, it will fall into the portal and out of the second one immediately. As the ball will not lose any momentum, it might be possible to send it hundreds of kilometres high by throwing it as hard as you can into the D. portal, because the ball might go a little higher every time it comes out and quite possibly a little faster.

But if such a thing as a portal gun exists, then it might be possible to utilise the properties of the portal gun to make a generator that can send out indefinite amounts of electricity, by finding a big slab of something that releases electricity every time it is hit, hook it up to wires, batteries etc. and positioning the slab directly above the infinitely rebounding ball. (the double portal, remember?)
