Marius (#2 in a series of explainations)

Cosette looked slyly out her window and smiled. For weeks now she had been watching her former 'sister' Eponine chase about this pretty-boy student named Marius. Eponine had no idea, of course, but she was about to recieve recompensation for the years she had lived as the privilaged and revered daughter of the Thenardies. Cosette thought back to those terrible years, most of them spent on her hands and knees, slave to the Inn and it's guests. If she never saw a bucket of water again, it would be too soon.

Her masterplan had begun as soon as she saw how happy Eponine was around this "Marius". She had watched as Eponine changed her routes in and out of the city so she would run into him as often as possible. Cosette had even noticed how Eponine would even venture into the ABC cafe occasionally just to sit there and watch her beloved speak about revolution and other whatnot that young boys who think they have nothing to lose speak about.

Cosette had made up her mind to steal Marius away. That would be the perfect revenge for all those years in hell.

She had even tried a few times before today, but always her plans had been unwittingly foiled by none other than Eponine herself. Somehow she always managed to get to Marius before Cosette did and when Marius was with Eponine, he didn't see anyone else. It wasn't fair, but Cosette knew she had to be patient.

There! She saw Marius round the corner with his friend Enjoras presumably heading towards the poor side of town. They had little leaflets in their hands...that was odd. Most of the people down there can't read, why on earth would they have leaflets? Cosette brushed this thought aside and began to walk towards her father's room. It was time to do a little 'goodwill' for the beggars...
