I John your brother saw an open door in Heaven,
And there stood a throne,
'Round which were burning lamps of fire (I counted seven)
And upon which sat One like a matchless gemstone.
There was a crystal sea
Before the Majesty,
And seats all around
Upon which, bathed in rainbow light,
Sat twenty-four elders clothed in white, elected and crowned.

They offered homage unto Him, whence came their crowning;
I heard the tongue they gave:

"Thou reignest eternally,
Lord Almighty!
Thou art the King of Everything!
But for Thy pleasure, nought would be,"
They cried;
"Thou art the King of Everything!"

Then, lo, I saw revealed
A book with seven seals
That no man could split.
An elder caught my eye
And told me not to cry,
For King David's Root had prevailed to unroll it.
Then I beheld arise
A Lamb with seven eyes
Who stood as one slain;
He received it from the hand
Of the One who sat enthroned, and
The elders all fell down and loosed their tongues again:

"Unseal Thou the mystery;
Thou art worthy,
Who made us kings of everything!
By Thy blood Thou hast set us free,
Who died
And made us kings of everything!"

And I looked,
And heard,
As a hundred million angels,
Each fish,
Each beast,
Each bird,
And everything that was in them raised one voice and averred:

"Might, wisdom, divinity,
Endless glory
Be to the King of Everything!
Blessing, honor, and strength to Thee
Who died
And reigns as King of Everything!"

Note: Yes, I know I left out the four living creatures. If you want to imagine them doing the bop-ba-bop parts in the background, go right ahead.

"...let me cast your crown, babe..."
