Kidd's P.O.V
The party was going great. Everyone was having fun and no one has ruined the symmetry of the house! Yet. It's New Years Eve and I'm throwing a party for my group of friends and everyone is here currently dancing. Soul and Maka danced close and occasionally Soul spun her. they were a cute couple and have been for thee past year. Blackstar danced around Tsubaki erratically in a way that was embarrassing just to watch. Tsubaki moved to the beat of the song smiling at Blackstar's terrible dancing. Yea, they're a couple too, for 10 months now. Patty jumped and spun around pulling Chrona right along with her. They weren't a couple... yet. It was extremely obvious they liked each other. And then there was Liz. Beautiful beautiful Liz. She is an amazing dancer and an amazing girl. Sigh. If only I could work up the nerve to make a move. I put my cup down and walk towards her. No more moping by the refreshments! I have to make a move. She was wearing a form fitting, black dress that cut off mid thigh. Her hair was simple yet still elegant. She had on gold heels, gold dangly earrings and necklace and was currently dancing the night away. Conveniently, the song changed to a slow song.
"May I have this dance?" I ask her, somehow hiding how nervous i am. She smiles and takes my hand as we move a bit away from our group of friends. I slowly place my hand a bit above her waist as she places her hands on my shoulders. We keep a small distance between each other as we begin to dance. This is going great!
"Thanks for asking me to dance Kidd. If you didn't, I would have to awkwardly stand-by and watch our friends couple up and mash faces." Liz smiled. We laughed and looked over at our friends. Chrona and Patty were fine but Soul was getting touchy and Blackstar was currently kissing Tsubaki's neck. Ugh.
"It was my pleasure," I smile, "You look amazing Liz." I notice a small blush.
"Um thanks Kidd you look nice as well."
"Liz?"
"yea Kidd?" We stop dancing and I move closer to her touching our foreheads together. I tilt my head down slightly to look into her beautiful eyes. My heart is pounding. Well, its now or never.
"I love you Liz." She looked at me in shock.
"You do?" The music dims as Blackstar loudly announces two more minutes until New Years.
"I do," I swallow my fear and continue, "iI've loved you for a long time now and I would be honored if you agreed to be my girlfriend." Liz Smiled at me hugging me tight.
"I love you too Kidd of course I'll be your girlfriend." Liz whispered in my ear. Still holding each other, foreheads touching, we gazed into each others eyes as our friends began the countdown.
"10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5!" our friends chanted. I smiled at Liz, the moment is perfect.
"3, 2!" I leaned in and pressed my lips against hers.
"1! Happy New Year!" Our friends yelled as they downed their champagne. I never want this moment to end. Her lips are so soft. We both pull away and blush.
"Happy New year Kidd." my new girlfriend says in my ear. I hold her tight and smile. Happy New Year indeed.
