Sorry it's been so long. I hope you're not mad, and the reason I haven't wrote is because of camp. Yes, camp. Anyways, here comes another Nexal and Sapphire love story, from Nexal's point of view. Enjoy!
I turned to see her walking towards me, her bright blue eyes glistening with tears. I sighed sadly, and turned my attention back to the portal that would lead me home.
"Nexal. Please." Her quiet plea reached me. I turned to her.
"Lady Sapphire. Please don't do this. You know the rules." I closed my golden eyes in pain. It hurt me to see her so sad. Sapphire shook her head, her long hair falling over her eyes. Tears poured down her cheeks.
"Please don't go. I-I need you." she choked out. I sighed and put my hand on her shoulder. She was now shaking. I tilted her chin up so she could see me.
"Lady Sapphire, you do not need me. Do not fool yourself into thinking that. You have your friends, and they need you more than I do." She stared at me in shock, and pulled away sharply. I winced, knowing that my words had hurt her. But she needed to understand. We could never be together, no matter how much she loved me.
"Nexal, I-I…" She couldn't get the rest out. I looked down, avoiding her eyes. Sapphire sniffed, turning away. I opened my mouth, and then closed it. I looked up to see Sapphire taking off one of her many necklaces. She walked up to me and placed something in my hand. I looked down. It was a silver necklace with a key and a heart on it.
"This is where my mom always said to keep my heart. So now it belongs to you." she whispered. I stared at her.
"But I can't-"
"Keep it." she replied with a smile, "I gave it to you a long time ago anyways. You deserve to have it more than anyone else." I smiled sadly and closed my fingers around the necklace.
"I'll keep it safe." I promised. We just looked at each other for a few moments. Then, leaning over, I kissed her on the forehead, then turned to go.
As I walked into the portal, she smiled through her tears, then looked down, eyes closed. I turned, vanishing, away from this world, and away from her, forever.
Well, well, well. Now, what did you think of that? Please review, because I wrote this one during camp after archery. So…you know, even flames are welcome! Pretty please? Teehee!!!
