A tear dripped down the Doctor's cheek as he tried to shut out the desperate cries still ringing in his ears. He was crouched next to the console, his head resting in his oily hands, as the lights flickered on the walls around him. The walls shook around him, embracing the sudden impact from the outside, as he raised his head, sniffing. He knew he couldn't stay here forever. Staring sadly at the TARDIS door, he raised himself up to his full height, and softly pulled the rusty lever down. 'What have I done?!' He thought, as another wave of despair passed through his body, contorting his spine into a wild arch. As the TARDIS engine started whirring, he sobbed into his sleeve, knowing he had sealed her fate.
Outside, Clara had slammed into the door.
"DOCTOR," She screamed, her voice hoarse and wrists frantically throwing themselves against the chipped blue wood. Hurriedly glancing behind her, she saw them coming closer. Their footsteps pounded the hard floor, only just audible. She increased her assault.
"DOCTOR LET ME IN THEY'RE COMING PLEASE... Doctor, I'm... scared..." Her voice trailed off as the loud whirring told her what he'd done. The TARDIS image flickered in front of her, and Clara fell into the space it had once occupied. She was on her knees, shivering wildly. Her silence allowed her to hear the increasing volume of the guttural snarls flying towards her, and as she sneaked a peek over her shoulder, realised she had maybe twenty seconds to live. Madly scanning the area around her, she saw that she had no hope. Spotless white tiles filled the landscape in every direction, apart from the black door in which through they'd come behind her. From this door, every hellish creature imaginable poured through. Resigned to her fate, Clara fell back onto her heels, and let the tears drop onto her lap. The first creature reached her, and dug its jagged claws painfully into her back. The second, then third monster attacked, and soon she was overwhelmed. As she opened her mouth wide, Clara hoped the Doctor would be able to hear her screams. It was the last thing she ever thought.
