A poem for Duke Devlin's perspective, before he and Yugi play the Dungeon Dice Monster's game. Duke thinks that Yugi destroyed his business chances when he beat Pegasus in the Duelist Kingdom finals.
Here I am with my dice in hand
Here I am with my dice in hand
I've found the perfect place to make my stand
I'm not gonna give, I won't back down
I will hold my place, I will see him drown
Because I am the one who's pulling the strings
I know I've thought of everything.
Now isn't the time for playing nice
'Cause it all can change with a roll of the dice.
Now I'm of to play the King of Games
And soon that's gonna be my name
I'll take from the one who doesn't know
Just how far my game really goes
He interrupted my proposition
Now he is my sworn opposition
So that I can get my game out there
And have people playing it everywhere
Duke Devlin, that would be my name
And the reason why I'm playing this game
For that is the reason why I'm making my stand,
It's the reason I've got my dice in hand.
Please review this is you read it. All criticism is welcome. Is my rhythm off? Could my rhymes be better? How well have I captured the essence of the character? Please, tell me what you really think. I'm interested in hearing all opinions.
