It is two years before The Day and Tamaki tears half the world apart in search of the perfect ring.
He will buy out a florist, make (or attempt to make) a romantic candlelit dinner for the two of them and ask her the question that will make or break his life.
~~~~X~~~~
It is one year to The Day and Tamaki still has not popped the question.
The twins mock him ceaselessly, Mori-senpai and Honey-senpai offer him excellent advice. Kyouya finally reaches the end of his patience and tells Haruhi to marry the idiot.
It is six months to The Day when Tamaki commissions his suit.
The twins measure him carefully for an hour, lecture him thoroughly on the, uh, Intimate Habits of a Husband and Wife, and send him home, face flaming red, saying that his suit has been ready for the past three months already.
It is three months to The Day and Tamaki has all the music picked out.
However Ranka does not take very kindly to his future son-in-law's divine taste in music when aforementioned son-in-law-to-be decides to serenade his daughter. At four in the morning.
It is two months to The Day and Tamaki simply can't decide.
Haruhi deeply regrets offering her help when he drags her to all the honeymoon destinations he has in mind. All fifty-three of them.
~~~~X~~~~
It is one month to The Day and Tamaki manages to be utterly wasteful.
He orders twenty different full-size wedding cakes in all the shapes, sizes and colours that he can possibly imagine.
One Mitskuni Haninozuka is delighted.

It is two weeks before The Day and Tamaki is not allowed to meet Haruhi.
The twins have finally managed to create the perfect wedding dress (not that they don't have ten others as back up) and it has been a flurry of dress fittings, completely involuntary lingerie modelling and some more dress fittings.
Needless to say, both bride and groom are furious (not for the same reasons though)

It is one week before The Day and Tamaki feels like he has lost a wrestling match with a tree. A really big tree.
He gains minor infamy when word of what actually happened leaks out.
"And he kept arguing with a rosebush" the twins laugh with tears in their eyes. Haruhi does not want to know.

It is one day before The Day and Tamaki is making a very important visit with his fiancee.
"Never will I ever mar the sanctity of our sacred union!" he promises Kotoko Fujioka. "I swear to love, honour and cherish Haruhi. I will protect your daughter as if she were my own!
A beat of silence passes before Tamaki realises what he has just said. Face flaming, he sputters in an attempt to correct himself.
Haruhi sighs.
~~~X~~~~
It is five minute before The Day and Tamaki is suffering from an intense case of the pre-wedding jitters.
Nekozawa spins dark tales of doom and gloom. The twins draw up divorce rates for the past fifty years. Honey and Mori are amused despite themselves, even as they attempt damage control and Kyouya is one phone call away from cancelling the entire thing.
Haruhi manages to calm him down (over the phone of course!)
Finally and finally, The Day dawns. Tamaki is blissfully and gloriously happy.
He blushes a brilliant scarlet, lifts up the gorgeous veil, drops a feather light kiss on his brand new wife and lives happily ever after.
