Because I have no better way of coping, apparently...
"GUYS!" Bart shouted, speeding into Mount Justice with a huge grin on his face. "Guys, did you hear?! We're coming back! The fans want us back and the corporate sponsors finally caved in! We're back to fighting the Light, finding Wally, battling baddies and saving the day! We- guys?" After racing around the different hallways shouting his wonderful news, Bart finally came to a stop in the den and kitchen area, where all his friends were sitting around with dazed expressions.
Confused, the teen moved to stand beside his best friend, poking Jaime in the shoulder (repeatedly) until the other boy looked at him. "What, hermano?"
"What's wrong with everybody? Haven't you heard the great news?"
Cassie picked her head up from the countertop to glare at him. "'Great'? What in Hades are you talking about, Bart? This is a disaster! That arrogant, pig-minded, bad-wig-wearing over-inflated egotistical woman-assaulting BASTARD won the vote!"
Bart blinked. "Uh... I'm talking about our show coming back for a third season. What, um, what are you talking about?"
Wordlessly, Cassie thunked her head back down, while Jaime took a hold of the confused speedster's shoulder and turned him to see the muted television in the den. It was tuned in to a news channel, where the headline TRUMP WINS PRESIDENTIAL RACE was prominently displayed beneath sobbing reporters.
"Oh."
"Did this happen in the future, hermano?"
"Well, yeah, but that's only because he got endorsed by the Reach, and a lot of people afterward thought they'd helped rig the election for him - and then Trump was the last president the United States ever had..."
"He still might be." Cassie muttered. "Diana wants to send me to stay on Themiscyra for the next four years. I think I'm gonna take her up on that offer - maybe set up a zeta tube so the others can come visit when they're done with that idiot's bullshit..."
"Can we come too?"
"Sorry, Jaime, girls only."
"Oh, right." The boy sighed and rubbed at his face. "Dios ten piedad de nosotros... I better head back to El Paso for some damage control. Gonna be a lot of people panicking in my neighborhood."
"Want me to come help?" Bart offered, which got a smile out of his friend and a nod.
"Eh, I'll come too," Cassie said, getting to her feet. "If nothing else, maybe we can show people that American heroes are still sticking together through this."
Not an hour later, a video was circulating through social media of Blue Beetle calming down the people of his city, with assistance from Impulse and Wonder Girl, something that gave more than a few scared people hope that things could still turn out alright, despite the disastrous choice made by so many of their countrymen.
