Chapter 1: Prologue
(This was inspired by the film P.S I Love You. I truly thought the film was beautiful and romantic so I present to you my readers this AU. Disclaimer all rights to YJ belong to Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti)
Artemis had felt empty, hollow, and above all sad. She sat in her room by herself on the soft bed with theother side of the bed made and unused. The window was open letting in the chilly night air as Auld Sang gently played on the radio. She felt her fingers rubbing across the smooth white paper surface of an envelope she had received not long ago. On the front his handwriting was neat and clear. Artemis took a deep breathe as she began to tear the envelope open.
The paper inside was folded neatly into three sections. Flipping the folded flaps over Artemis saw the typed words on the page as they began to jump out at her begging to be read. Artemis started at the top and let her eyes scan the white page as she began to read.
Dear Artemis,
Hey babe, I know you probably feel awful right now. This is extremely morbid of me sending you a letter even though I'm gone. But I want you to listen to me tomorrow you'll get another letter with more instructions and I want you to promise me you'll follow them.
This is important since I didn't want to leave you this way...and I didn't want to say goodbye so soon.
I have a plan.
I know you're thinking to yourself. Me? The impulsive Wall man has an actual plan? There's a first for everything, babe.
So this is how it's going to go. I'm going to be sending you letters in many different ways. Don't try to figure out how just make sure you keep an eye out.
Anyways, first set of instructions! I want you to go out tonight with your friends and celebrate the new year! Please don't mope around the house doing nothing. You're too smart and hot to be moping. I love you.

Artemis felt the tears stream down her cheeks and watched as they splattered and soaked the paper in her hands. "I can't believe you…"
A beep came from her cell phone as a notification showed on her screen. Setting down the letter Artemis rubbed her tears away picking up the device and swiped it open to the phone app. She had a message from M'gann. With the tap of a button the message opened and began to play.
"Hey Artemis, we know you might want to be alone tonight but just in case all of the girls are hanging out for New Years. We'll be meeting at my place before we leave so if you want to come you can. See you there if you come…"
The message stopped. Artemis glanced over at the letter sitting further away on the bed. With a long heavy sigh Artemis got up from the bed opened her closet pulling out a leather jacket and pulling it on as she walked to the front door. Artemis stood at the door. She took a peek through the nearby window and saw people all around the neighborhood celebrating with poppers and other fun activities.
Artemis took a deep breathe closing her eyes for a moment and thinking. 'I don't have to do this right? My husband just died...but it is from Wally and I've always trusted him so why would I doubt him now?'
Artemis hand touched the cold knob of the door. With a twist of the wrist the knob slowly turned and a small clicking sound could be heard as the doors lock was undone. The door swung open in one swift motion and for the first time in weeks Artemis took the first step out of her house.
