Final Fantasy V

Prologue

The sun rose, shining over the castle. On a ledge near the roof, a dragon lay sleeping. It opened its yellow eyes and stretched its wings to the sun. It screeched once, calling to the sun.
King Tycoon walked out onto the ledge, looking around to see if anyone was watching him. He reached out and pet the dragon's scaly neck, soothing it before flight.
The door to the interior of the castle slammed open. His daughter ran forward. "Father! Do you really have to go?"
He turned towards her. "Lenna, protect the castle in my absence. Don't follow me."
She tried to object. "But..."
He stopped her and looked to the horizon. "Something about the wind bothers me...I must see the crystal of the Wind Shrine."
She looked at the same point and stood for a second. "Yes...I can feel it, too. But must you go alone...?"
He smiled and put his hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry. I can still handle myself."
He turned and climbed onto the dragon. It spread its wings and screeched again before slowly rising into the air. It moved towards the Wind Shrine. Lenna waved goodbye to the shrinking figure flying away. She stood alone there for a long time.

On the ocean, Faris the pirate stood on the bow, giving orders to the crew. Suddenly, the sails went slack. He frowned and waited to feel the air rush by again, but nothing happened.
He though to himself, /The wind...it stopped.../

The old man stood in the cave. The whole thing rumbled quickly about. He couldn't think straight as everything moved beneath his feet. He thought, /The wind has stopped. I must hurry!/

Lenna felt something wrong in the air. She couldn't put her finger on it at first, but the reality struck her like a fist.
"The wind!! Has something happened to Father?!"

King Tycoon entered the crystal room. Immediately he could tell something was wrong. "What the-"
The crystal shattered in a flash of light.

Butz sat at the campfire with Boco, his chocobo. He could tell something was wrong when the flames in the fire stopped whipping around. As he sat, wondering what was wrong, the ground shook. He looked up into the sky. A huge rock came hurtling out of the sky and was headed near the ground where he sat. The thing smashed into the earth, leaving a long trench until it came to a stop.
He quickly put out the fire and ran to the spot to see what had happened.
