Elle Enchanted

Ella is my mother, queen over all Kyrria. My father was king. And I, Elle, am princess. My mother went through half of her life cursed with obedience. The idiot Lucinda, a fairy meant to bestow it as a gift. Mandy, my fairy godmother and cook, told me the story of how the curse was broken so many times, that it seems like I was there. My mother tried to fight it, for my father without realizing it, gave my mother an order. He told her to marry him, but she knew that Olga, my step- grandmother and Auntie Hattie would use Mama's curse as an advantage which would endanger all of Kyrria and Ayortha. She was on the floor, tears flowing from her eyes rocking back and forth. Suddenly she stood up and shouted: "I CANNOT MARRY YOU, BECAUSE I'M CURSED" Then the curse was broken because her late mother, Eleanor, had ordered her to never tell anyone about her curse. My story begins with my sister, Ettensi, (we all have Ayorthan names) and I, sitting in the throne room playing dice, Ollo and Uban, my younger brothers were chasing each other, and mother and father laughed at us all. Suddenly the whole room filled with the scent of lilacs, and a beautiful, but angry fairy was standing in the middle of the room. She turned to my mother. "ELLA!" she yelled" You ungrateful wretch! I gave you a gift, and you broke it!" "Lucinda" my mother stood up, and said with the reasonable force that can persuade an ogre "It was more of a curse" "A CURSE?! I spent 6 months as an obedient child, at first it was awful I will admit, but I thought, 'what a wonderful wife this shall make me'" "Love makes a good wife, not obedience," said Father "You stay out of this," Lucinda said with a poisonous glare, and then she turned on me "You there, what's your name?" "Elle" "Well, Elle, if your mother won't appreciate the gift, then maybe you will"
She walked over to me. I started to back away, but she grabbed my arm and touched my nose then just disappeared. My family looked at me with an open mouthed gaze, tears started falling from my mother's eyes and she rushed down to me.
"Elle, clap your hands three times" she asked through the tears.
It was a feeling like no other, the room started spinning and I had a horrible headache, my arms started moving towards each other. I clapped and immediately felt better. I looked at my mother, the fear relevant in her eyes. I started crying and fell to the floor. At fourteen years old I was cursed.

Mandy held me in her arms, as I cried. I felt lost and vulnerable. She loosened her grip and looked at me.
"Elle," she said, "You cannot go near your Aunt, for too long"
"Why? I still think she's horrible, but why?"
"Come on sweet, she'll use you" "Oh, well I'm going to the menagerie"
