Hi, ConfusedKitsune 2 here with A Game of Thrones FanFiction, the TV show, not the book, although both are amazing. Is it just me or did anyone else feel the pain of the Red Wedding get even worse when Arya couldn't save King Robb's Dire Wolf, Grey Wind... then I realized it was just a three yard dash, they didn't even put a lock on the door, what would happen if she took a Three Yard Dash?
Arya didn't know what was happening, one second there was a wedding party, the next blood was spilled. The Freys' banner men crowded over to the far side of the table and used their knives to slash out the northerners' throats before they knew what happened. Before Robb's men on the other side of the table could stand the Frey's men pushed the table over pinning them down and stabbed them with their swords. After the stab to the back they jogged in an orderly formation to their predetermined location to stab more people in the back.
Arya was in shock, "What just happened?" she thought, "What do-" "Thud". The stable doors rattled, "Grey Wind!" Arya whispered.
Without thinking Arya went to the overturned table in a crouch. When she got next to the cooling bodies of her brother's banner men she felt sick, her nauseating feeling caused a short pause that saved her life. Six more of Frey's men jogged past the table in their nicely ordered formation. As soon as they turned around a corner Arya jumped over the table and dashed.
At the second yard Jon Rivers, a bastard of Lord Walden Frey that had twenty name days, noticed a child running towards the dire wolf pen, it was to far away to see the gender, but he did see the kid running away from the dead bodies to the dire wolf pen.
Jon ran to the child, hoping to get it away from the wolf- this whole situation entirely, there was no reason to traumatize a child even more than it already was. " Kid! Come with me, I'll get you some where safe."
Arya made it to Grey Wind's pen when she realized someone was on to her, she fumbled with the piece of wood holding the door shut. When she pulled out the wood keeping the door closed she saw wood cover her vision for a second, then darkness.
Jon froze in shock as the kid was launched three feet in the air, landing on the hard cobblestone, limp. He was in so much shock he didn't even notice the giant wolf until he was on his back and teeth in his throat.
The wolf was going to tear out the man's throat when it heard a moan. Arya was right behind in a crumpled heap. Grey Wind released the man's bleeding throat and stared at Arya in shock, the ex-missing knocked out family member moaned again as a response. Shaking his head Grey Wind used his jaws to gently lift the passed out girl on to his shoulders and walked away.
Surprisingly not many people noticed the duo, the Freys were either finishing off the Northern army or celebrating their win at the "Battle" of the Twins. The Northerners were to busy being dead, fighting, or captured to do notice them, and Grey Wind was too busy in shock to help anyone, he reached the woods on autopilot.
When he found a nice empty cave he curled around Arya and went to sleep.
The Tales of the Mute Bastard Frey
Jon Rivers survived the night. He wished he didn't. Ironically he was saved by the squad sent to kill the wolf.
When the measter preformed surgery it was too late, the damage was done, any hopes of his dream of being a bard was over, he was mute.
