The small brigade of animals,
Weary, tired, and sad,
Leave their home forever,
The crushed, broken land.
As they travel through their once home,
Now departing into the unknown.
Many family and friends passed and dead,
These creatures now worry where to tread.
As the Wolves howl their magical song,
Sometimes they wonder where their gods went wrong.
"Lupus, Ursus, Glaux, and more,
We all wonder what was your flaw?"
"But now as we travel to this distant land, we pray to you,
We want your help to reach the Distant Blue."
The ice was cold under their paws,
And startling to the masked owls claws.
As they trekked out across the endless ice,
Protecting their pups with all their might.
Knowing that they were essential in the Blue,
Even though it was just a distant hew.
The bear cubs,
Once small, cute, and furry,
Now grown up,
And strong and burly.
They sing their sorrow,
For one has passed.
She now climbs the star ladder,
The great constellation path.
The Wolves say to her daughter,
Don't worry, don't stray,
She is now in the hands of great Lupus today.
The brigade of animals, now a family and clan,
Make their way through their new home and land.
They cheer for each other,
And howl for the ones in heaven.
For they now have begun a new chapter,
And have escaped their icy captor.
