"Come on Janko, you gotta be kiddin' me. I'm insulted that you have so little faith in me." Jamie teased with his partner. They had just finished giving a speech to some prospective NYPD officers, and per Eddie's insistence, had headed to a small hole-in-wall restaurant for lunch. Jamie hadn't had to think twice about the lunch invitation, but he was pretty sure they were a bit over dressed for the place. Eddie assured him however that they had the best burgers around, and how could you argue with her on food? The place had a dart board, and Eddie was confident that Jamie couldn't beat her at darts.
"Jameson Regan. Out of the four and half years that we have been partners, I can count on one hand the number of times you've beaten me." Eddie mocked as she crossed her arms.
"Oh please. I let you win." Jamie mocked, as he mirrored Eddie's position. Suddenly, Eddie pursed her lips got a look in her eye that Jamie was all too familiar with.
"Prove it. I win, I get to drive first tour back from suspension." She suggested.
"You're onnn Janko. And when I win, I get to pick where we eat for a week." Jamie agreed. The partners shook on it, before standing up to head over to the dart board.
Eddie's eyes glistened as she smiled, looking up at Jamie.
"You ready to scream like a little girl, Reagan?" She mocked, earning an eye roll from her partner.
"Psh. Only if you're ready to eat salads. Besides, we all know that was one time. One!" Jamie tried defending himself as the duo walked over to the dart board. This time, it was Eddie who rolled her eyes.
"It was one time!" Eddie mimicked, trying to stifle her laughter. Jamie rolled his eyes yet again, as Eddie picked up a dart.
"Besides, maybe if you didn't drive like my brother when he was 14, I wouldn't have to scream and you could drive all the time!" Jamie countered, a twinkle in his eye as he watched his partner carefully aim the dart. Eddie released the dart, causing it to hit just below the bullsyeye.
"Beat that Reagan." She smirked, handing him his dart. Jamie took the dart, and had a look of serious concentration on his face as he aimed it towards the board.
"Oh please. I could do that in my sleep. I even have the perfect salad place. I know how you l like rabbit food. That's good Janko, but..." Jamie paused, releasing the dart.
"It's just not good enough." He smirked, looking over at her. Eddie grinned.
"Not so fast boyscout." She grabbed him bye the hand and led him over to the board.
"Oh, come on! You've gotta be kidding me!" Jamie groaned. He had almost his the bullseye, but it was obvious that Eddie's dart was just a bit closer. Eddie smirked.
"So remind me Reagan, just how fast can the radio car go again? Does it compare to the porshe or the chevelle? I betcha I can get it faster then it's ever gone before." Jamie had his arm around her shoulder as she rambled, and they headed back to their table. Jamie gave her one of his 100 Watt grins that he knew she loved. She really WAS good. She didn't need to though that he hadn't been lying when he said he let her win. He didn't have the heart to tell her (or tell her) that he was a pro at darts. After growing up with two older brothers, he had played hundreds of dart games, and become the family champion. Jamie and Eddie were both competitive though, and he thought she should have the chance to win once in awhile; She deserved it. Not only that, but if things went the way Jamie was hoping they would, Eddie would be riding with someone else soon; She'd be driving more, and that meant that she needed all the driving time she could get. Besides- they all knew that Jamie would never actually get to pick where they ate.
