Dear Sora,

Hi. It's been awhile, hasn't it? I decided I had to write to you, I just remembered the days when we were younger.

We were born in this little town
Growing up I was counting down
Every single day 'till we made our get-away
But you said you could never see yourself
Trying to make a life anywhere else
This would be your home and I was on my own

I hope you're doing fine. I am. I see Mimi from time-to-time, when I visit New York. She misses you and says hi. She's got a husband now, and the cutest little daughter. Maybe you'd want to get in touch with her. I know the number, if you need it.

But ever since we said good-bye
I've been out there on the wind
Baby you would be surprised
At all the places you have been (I've seen you in)

I've been all over the United States now. All over North America, even. But it's just not the same without you here. I'm gonna be in Japan for a few months, so just, if you want to write back, use the return address. But wherever I am, you're there. You're still part of my heart, Sora, no matter where you are.

Albuquerque waiting out a blizzard
Arizona dancin' cross the desert
Watching the sun set in Monterey
And baby I swear just the other day
You were down in Georgia pickin' them peaches
In Carolina barefoot on the beaches
No matter where you choose to be
In my heart I'll always see you everywhere

I don't know if I love you like I did before, but I still care about you. I hear Matt asked you to marry him. Joe told me. He also said you did want to invite me... and you were crying because I was gone. I'm really sorry. If I had known about it, I would have gone for sure. Don't cry, Sora, I'm alright and stuff.

Now a days when I'm passing through
The conversation always turns to you
I hear you're doin fine living out by the county line
Got a man that's home every night
A couple of kids and the kinda life
That you wanted to lead, Guess you could say the same for me
'cause you and I made our choices
All those years ago
Still know I'll hear your voice
And see you down the road (maybe in)

It is nice to be back in Japan though. I forgot how pretty it is. You should really go to the USA sometime. They've got some pretty sights there. The prairie, the beaches, the desert... and in all the different places, the climate is so different. You could be in one state during a hail storm and then you go to another state and you get sun burn its so hot and sunny out.

Oklahoma drivin' 'cross the prairie
Dallas, Texas isn't that where we
Always said we'd like to try
But never did so maybe that's why
You're on every highway just beyond the high-beams
Right beside me in all of my sweet dreams
No matter where you choose to be
In my heart I'll always see you in

Tell Matt and the kids I said hi. Well, maybe just Matt, unless your kids know who I am. What are their names? Nobody ever told me. Only told me that the oldest is a girl and the youngest is a boy. I hope both you and your family are happy and healthy. I'm sure your kids are beautiful. I mean gosh, they're yours and Matt's! What do they look like, I wonder?

Please write back soon, Sora. I know this is kinda strange, I haven't talked to you for years. But I miss you and at least want to keep in touch like this. I hope you don't hate me, because I still care about you.

Love,
Taichi Kamiya
