Chapter 1: The Call I Got Today
"Demyx!" Axels voice whined.
"Hn?" Demyx, who was currently focused solely on his video game, said distractedly. Only one more lap left, AND he was in first place! That stupid ape was gaining on him though...
"I'm so bored!" Axel complained as he sat down in the red bean-bag next to his friend, looking towards Demyx with pleading eyes, begging to be noticed.
"Huh? Oh yea, sure. Just a sec." Demyx said, not really hearing a word the redhead was saying. "Ugh!" He exclaimed. Stupid turtle shell! YOU WILL PAY YOU STUPID PLUMMER!
Axel gave a defeated groan and slumped down in his chair. "Demmmmm!" He cried as he tried desperately to capture the focused boys attention. He was ready to dress in drag and do the hula if it meant he would get some attention!
"Gah! Banana!" Demyx exclaimed before jerking the wheel he was holding sharply to the right, almost hitting Axels head in the process. Not that Axel noticed, he was too busy moping because of the lack of attention. Demyx was the one who invited him over in the first place! It was proper etiquette to NOT ignore your guest!
"Yes! Take that Mario! This princess don't need you to save her anymore! Hah!" Demyx said as he continued being completely oblivious to Axel.
Now Axel was getting mad. Why does that game get more attention then him? He was DIEING of boredom and Demyx is too focused on his game to even notice! He gave a verbal growl and gave the worst glare he could summon up at the said game. In return of his heated glare, he received a laugh from Mario. That stupid bastard was taunting him!
'Damn you bastard! First you steal my friend but then decide that it isn't good enough so then you mock me! Oh, you're in for it now!'
"Almost at the finish line! Here I come first place!" Demyx exclaimed giddily, bouncing up and down from excitement. He hadn't played Mario Kart in so long and he was still this good! Ahh! He could almost taste the sweet success of winning.
That is, until the screen suddenly went black. He just stared for a moment, taking it all in with a blank face. His wide eyes gradually shifted to the redhead who was crouched down beside the tv, holding a plug in his hands and looking at it with a smirk.
"Axel!" Demyx screamed as he bolted up from his seat and pointed an accusing finger at him. "What the hell did you just do?!"
Axel looked over at his friend, still crouching, and gave him a slight pout. "What? It's his fault! He was mocking me! AND he stole you from me! He was asking for it..." He finished with a last glare at the game before standing up.
Axel received a blank stare in return for his explanation. "What?" Demyx deadpanned, completely lost and having no idea what his friend was talking about.
Axels face turned angry as he pointed towards the game. "That thing! After he stole you from me, he started mocking me and laughing at me! It's evil!" He exclaimed, throwing his hands around wildly to further demonstrate his anger.
Demyx just sighed, closed his eyes and pinched his nose between his thumb and index finger. "You know what?" He asked rhetorically as he released his nose and looked over at his friend. "Whatever. Let's just go get something to drink before you start blaming the bean bag chair because I sat on IT and not you."
Demyx made his way to the kitchen with his delusional friend right on his heels. He searched the fridge and pulled out a can of Cola for each of them. The fridge door closed with a rattle, shaking the refrigerator slightly. Demyx straightened up and tossed one can to his friend who was already seated at the bar stool. He caught the can with ease since this was their routine every time Axel came over, which was a lot.
Axel gave him a smile as a way of saying thanks and pulled the tab, being rewarded with the sound of the seal breaking. He took a big gulp of soda before setting the can down on the counter and sighing. He looked over at Demyx and tried using his pleading eyes again now that he had his attention.
"Deeem! I'm bored! Let's do something!" Axel complained as he watched Demyx sit down on the bar stool next to him and take a drink of his soda. Demyx looked over at Axel and gave a small smile, "Sure, whaddya want to do then?" He asked, hoping Axel had an idea of what he wanted to do even though he highly doubted it.
"I don't know. You're the host, you should think of something." Axel said as he leaned forward and put his elbows on the table, resting his head on his hands and keeping his eyes on Demyx.
Demyx sighed as he conjured up ideas of what they could do.
"Hmmmm" he hummed in thought. Well, there wasn't much just the two of them could do. Movies? Nah, they did that last weekend. Video games? No, Axel was probably holding a grudge against his wii system. So what then? Well, maybe he could invite some other people over, ya know, the more the merrier? Yeah... That could work! Hahaha! Demyx really was smarter then everyone gave him credit for!
Demyx smiled as he looked over at his not-so-patiently waiting friend. Axel saw the smile and looked like he was just told he could play with fire.
"You thought of something?!" He asked hopefully, bolting up straight in his seat, his eyes shining.
"Yep! And I bet you're going to love it!" He said as he paused, waiting for dramatic effect. Axel looked like he couldn't wait a second more and leaned in closer to Demyx, "What?!" He asked impatiently.
"I'll invite Roxas over!" Demyx exclaimed as he extended his arms out like he was introducing the most amazing thing ever. Axels face faltered at the name, looking almost shocked, but Demyx saw how his eyes lit up even brighter. He couldn't help the smirk that came to his face.
"Oh? Hah, that's what I was going to love? C'mon! That's not that exciting, I'd rather just hang out with you." He said as he started scratching at the back of his head, something Demyx knew he did when he was nervous.
Demyx's smirk grew as he leaned towards Axel. "Save it. I already know you like him" he said matter of factly, watching as Axel opened his mouth to protest, but slowly shut it. His head hung as he gave a defeated sigh.
"Is it..." Axel started, keeping his eyes on the floor. "That obvious?" He asked. Damn. He thought he did pretty well at keeping that a secret!
"Heh. Only because we're best friends. I can see right through you." He stated proudly, smiling at Axel as said redhead looked up at him.
"Really? What about that time when I lied about breaking the string on your sitar? Did you see right through me then?" Axel asked as one red eyebrow rose in question.
Demyx gave him a shocked look and yelled, "WHAT?! You lied about that? So it wasn't Saix who did that?"
Axel just smirked and looked over at his bipolar friend with interest. "Do you really think Saix is the kind of person to go out of his way to do that? I think he would rather just ignore you then seek to annoy you." He stated, proud of himself for distracting Demyx. Too easy...
"Awww man!" Demyx exclaimed as he ran a hand through his mohawk. "I got my ass beat up after I confronted him about that!" He yelled, waving his arms around almost violently as he spoke. "You swore that you saw him do it and I believed you!"
Axel just laughed at his distressed friend and took another sip of his soda. "Yeah, sorry about that. But you have to admit, it was pretty funny." He explained.
Demyx just frowned and gave Axel the finger as he slouched over in his seat to mope about the newly uncovered information. Axel laughed as they fell into silence, allowing Axel to congratulate himself on changing topics so easily. He mentally gave himself a pat on the back and a high five. He was right in the middle of planning on what to do later to congratulate himself when a gasp from the musician broke the silence. Axel peered over at him to find a pair of eyes looking at him in shock and disbelief.
Demyx pointed an accusing finger at him before sharing what was on his mind."You! You changed the topic on me! Oh no, you're not getting out of this one that easily!" Demyx shouted as he gave Axel a grumpy look.
'Well' Axel thought. 'There goes my celebratory cake...' Axel just sighed and looked at his friend. "Dem, I really don't want to talk about that." He explained with an almost pained expression on his face.
Demyx gave a persistent look and refused to let it go, not noticing his friends change in behavior. "No! We're going to discuss this!" He demanded and crossed his arms.
"Dem-" Axel started but was cut off by Demyx.
"Now! I want to know, why haven't you told him how you feel yet?" Demyx asked with a sudden softened in his eyes. Axel looked up to see those eyes and knew he couldn't say no to him, not when he looked like that. He sighed once more and got ready to spill his guts.
"Because I can't. I don't even know if Roxas is gay or not! I'll admit that I like him. I've liked him ever since I met him my Junior year of high school. That's when we decided to become friends. Of course I want to be more then friends but I can't risk it. If I told him my feelings, he might get scared or even disgusted and won't want to be around me anymore. He means too much to me Dem, I can't do it. I can't loose him because I'm selfish and want to be more then friends" Axel finished with a sad and defeated look, refusing to look at Demyx and instead chose to focus on his hands that were folded in his lap.
Demyx frowned and thought it over in his head. Okay! He knew what he needed to do! He pulled out his phone and looked under contacts.
'Kairi... Leon...Luxord... Marluxia...Mom...Olette...Roxas! Here we go!' He thought as he clicked on the name.
By then, Axel noticed and looked up with interest. Did Demyx not hear him spill his guts? "What're you doing?" He asked curiously. He leaned forward to see Roxas's name on the phones screen. His eyes widened as he moved to snatch the phone away from Demyx's grip. "Dem, no! Stop it!" Axel demanded as Demyx smiled and held the phone up to his ear. "Sorry! But if you don't have the balls to do something, then I'll just have to help!" Axel lunged for the device, causing him and Demyx to fall off of the bar stools and land on the floor.
Demyx was the first to recover and quickly shot to his feet, followed shortly by Axel. "DEMYX!" He yelled angrily as said man put a finger to his mouth, shushing him.
"DEM-"
"Hey Rox! How's it hanging?" Demyx said cheerfully as he smirked victoriously at Axel. Sorry Ax! But it has to be done.
Axel hissed quietly and glared at him. "You're so dead!" He whispered loudly, venom seeping in his words.
"Really? So you're not busy?" Demyx asked, pausing for Roxas to answer. Axel heard Roxas's voice faintly over the phone. He got the sudden urge to hear his voice. How long has it been since they last hung out? God he missed the small blond!
"Great! Hey, what do you think about coming over here? I was just hanging out when I thought to myself, 'hey, you know what? I should invite Roxas over!' so I did! What do ya say?" He said, once again pausing.
"Mmhmmm..." He hummed.
"Well why not?"
"Oh"
"Okay"
"Of course"
"Nope"
"Axel"
"Yep"
...
"Really? That's great!" He exclaimed finally. Axel couldn't decided between feeling happy or nervous, so he just settled with both.
"Sure. See you soon Roxy!" He said as he hung up and glanced smugly at Axel.
Axel just looked over at him, the annoyance clear on his face as he thought of a way to get back at him. Revenge is a dish best served hot. Whoever said cold was dead wrong! Who would want to eat something cold? Ew. You want it while it's still hot!
'Hmm. *evil smirk* hahaha! I've got it!'
"Sora and Riku are coming too." Demyxs voice broke through the silence and put a pause on Axels evil scheming. Axel just smirked as he looked over at Demyx who was confused about Axels 180 change in attitude. Maybe he was the one who was bipolar?
"That's great! Cause I was hoping I could invite someone too!" Axel said with way too much excitement as he plunged one hand into his front pocket and retrieved his cellphone. He hit the on button and started searching through his contacts for a certain someone, not bothering to wait for Demyx's reply.
Demyx just looked at his friend, still confused with his behavior. "Um... Okay?" He said carefully, watching as Axel fiddled with his phone. Something was not right here... He thought Axel would be mad, at least for a day or two...
Axel just scrolled all the way down to the bottom and selected the last name on his contacts list. Oh yes, sweet revenge. He brought the phone up to his ear and kept smiling at Demyx, waiting for the other person to answer their phone.
'Click' "Hello?"
Bingo.
"Hello Zexion!" Axel said with fake glee, giving an evil smile at Demyx.
Upon hearing the name, Demyx froze and instantly paled. Oh no... No, no, no, no! Damn you Axel! He thought as he clenched his teeth together in a snarl to keep from shouting at the smug pyro.
"No need to be so rude! I'm just trying to be friendly!" Axel stated to the phone, losing his smile.
"No no wait! Don't!" He pleaded.
"I was just wondering if you wanted to come over to Dem's house." He said, regaining his smile.
"Yep. A few others are coming over and he wanted to make sure that I invited you over too! Isn't that nice of him?" He asked Zexion as he kept his eyes on his angered friend. Oh yes. Revenge is sweet.
"No."
"Yep."
"Good! I'll be sure to tell him! See ya later Zex!" Axel finished as he hung up his phone quickly and shoved it back in his pocket. He didn't have to look to know that Dem was giving him a death glare, he could feel it burning into him.
"Now" Axel started, looking up and meeting the death glare head on, sending one back in return. "We're even."
Demyx 'hmphed' as he turned his head away, crossing his arms over his chest. Axel just rolled his eyes at his friends childish antics, reaching forward to hold his drink between his fingers. He sat down once again on the bar stool and smirked.
'Well. At least I won't be bored anymore.' Axel thought as he chugged back the rest of his Cola.
***\(-_-)/***
Roxas sighed as he made his way into the kitchen, immediately making his way over to the fridge.
Food.
He searched the fridge, only to find it empty as he sighed again. This was going to be a long day, wasn't it? Another day of lounging around the house, talking to himself in his head, waiting for Monday to come so he could go to school. At least then he would have something to do, even if college was really boring.
The weekends were always so boring! His parents always worked and came home just before dinner so he was left alone with his twin brother Sora. That would be okay with him, just hanging out with his twin, except he always invited Riku over so he was always left out. Sure he had friends, but not any good enough to invite over. That is, except one.
But of course, he would never do it because of his secret crush for him. Yep, HIM. It was a secret he has never told anyone, not even his parents or his brother. He was 100%, completely gay. He liked his friend and there was nothing he could do about it. His emerald green eyes, striking red hair, two upside down tear drop tattoos under his eyes, he loved them all. Yes, his crush was none other then Axel Lea Rose. They had been friends since he was a freshman in high school, so he could have invited Axel over without it being awkward, but he was afraid if he did, he might do something to risk their friendship. That was the thing he feared most, and it was something that he could never do.
Another sigh.
Roxas made his way to the kitchen table, taking his phone out to check his messages. Nope. Like usual, not a single one. As he mindlessly tapped random things on his phone trying to kill his boredom, he got so lost in what he was doing that when his phone rang, he dropped it on the table in surprise. He almost never got any calls, well, other then his parents or Sora. When his heart stopped pounding, he picked it up and read the name on it: Demyx.
Demyx? Why would he be calling me? And when did he get my number?
Sure they were friends, but they weren't that close. In fact, the only reason they were friends in the first place was because they were both good friends with Axel.
Confusion still present, he answered his phone and brought it up to his ear.
"Hello?" He asked timidly
"Hey Rox! How's it hanging?" Came the chipper reply, a little loud in his ear.
Okayyy? This is... Different. When has he ever called me Rox?
"Fine. Nothing really going on." He tried to sound normal but it was hard when you know something is wrong.
"Really? So you're not busy?" Demyx said, once again using a friendly tone he wasn't used to hearing. Sure Demyx always sounded extremely excited and hyper but this was... Different.
"No." He replied simply, very wary of the way the conversation was going.
"Great! Hey, what do you think about coming over here? I was just hanging out when I thought to myself, 'hey, you know what? I should invite Roxas over!' so I did! What do ya say?" He asked.
'What?'
"You wanted to invite me over?" Roxas asked skeptically.
"Mmhmmm." Demyx hummed in reply.
Well, that actually sounded nice. Being able to hang out and be better friends with Demyx could be fun. To be honest, he had wanted to become closer with the musician. Axel seemed to like him a lot so he wanted to know what it was that the redhead found so interesting.
He was about to accept when he remembered something.
"I can't. " He replied, almost disappointed.
"Well why not?" Demyx asked sounding kinda shocked.
"Riku is over right now." Roxas said sadly.
Roxas wouldn't have used that as an excuse except that it was true. Of course, Riku was hanging out with Sora, but if he left, they would be here all alone. If they were left alone, Sora would probably find some way to set the house on fire. And Riku would let him do it as long as he was happy. Oh yes, he could see it now.
"Oh." Demyx stated. He almost sounded... Sad? Disappointed? No... It must be his imagination. Why would he disappointed at him not being able to come over? Why would he invite him over in the first place? His head hurt from thinking too hard...
That's it! He couldn't pass up on this opportunity! This was a once in a life time chance, so he was going to take it!
"Hold on." He said as he made his way to the living room where he knew Sora and Riku would be watching a movie.
"Okay." Demyx said, almost hopeful.
'Too weird'.
He approached the couch where Riku and Sora were sitting side by side, practically on top of each other, with an empty bowl of leftover melted butter and salt in it in between them.
"Hey, since you guys would probably be kinda bored here, do you want to go over to Demyx's with me?" Roxas asked as two pairs of eyes settled on him, one bored and one looking excited. Can you guess who is who?
A silver eyebrow raised in reply. "I didn't know you two where that close." He stated, reaching over to the remote to turn down the volume of the tv.
"Eh. You know, things change." Roxas replied vaguely since he was thinking the same thing. He had only talked to Demyx on a few rare occasions.
Sora practically jumped at the offer and started to get these sparkles in his eyes. "Wow really?! We can come too?" He asked excitedly as he bounced up and down.
Roxas nodded at his twin as Sora turned to Riku, yelling about how cool it was going to be. Riku just rolled his eyes and nodded at Roxas, signaling him that they would go. Roxas gave him a nod and headed back to the kitchen where he could hear over Sora's yelling.
He put the phone back to his ear and took a deep breath.
"Well I can go, but I'll have to bring Riku and Sora with me. Is that okay?" He asked hopefully. Now he really wanted to go! Maybe this wouldn't be too bad... It was better then lazing around the house all day at least.
"Of course!" Roxas could almost hear his smile. There must be something wrong with this, right? Some kind of catch.
"Is it just you there?" Roxas asked before he would hang up.
"Nope" he replied, not giving much information.
"Oh?" Roxas said surprised. So he didn't plan on it being just me and him. Oh well. "Who else is there?"
There was a slight pause which made Roxas get a bad feeling before Demyx spoke up again. "Axel."
His heart just about leaped out of his chest just by hearing that name. His pulse quickened as he gave an audible intake of air which Demyx either didn't notice or ignored.
Well shit.
"Axels going to be there?" He asked, already knowing the answer. He wasn't sure if he should be excited or scared, so he went with both for now.
"Yep." Demyx replied simply, completely oblivious to Roxas's sudden mood change.
Roxas felt his palms getting damp and his eyebrows draw together, forming a crease on his forehead.
'Shit shit shit! I don't think I can handle being near him! I might not be able to control myself!'
Yeah. So maybe his "little" crush was a bit bigger then he first let on. It was more like every time Roxas saw him, he'd have to force himself not to pounce on him and crush his lips to Axels. If just his name made Roxas' heart pound, imagine what would happen if he saw Axel. It also doesn't help that Axel is kind of clingy and likes to touch him whenever possible.(Like hugging and stuff! Perverts...) Hence why Roxas has been avoiding him lately. It's not like he wants to avoid him, because he loves spending time with him, but it's just too hard to control himself.
Yes. This is much more then a little crush, and he's starting to tread in dangerous waters.
Roxas sighed as he succumbed to his fate. "Alright. I'll come." he said almost reluctantly as he unconsciously ran a hand through his ruffled blonde spikes.
"Really? That's great!" The hyperactive blonde exclaimed. He was so loud that Roxas had to hold the phone away from his ear.
"Yes. We'll be over soon." He said, as he started to walk back to the living room to warn Riku and Sora that they'd be leaving soon.
"Sure. See you soon Roxy!" Demyx yelled one last time before hanging up his phone. Roxas did the same as he looked up and found Sora and his friend already up and ready to go.
As the pair looked up at Roxas, the blonde gave them a small smile before asking, "Ready to go?" Both gave a nod, one of them more enthusiastic than the other, before Sora turned to Riku and continued expressing how awesome this was going to be.
Roxas gave a quiet chuckle and shook his head slightly. 'Geez, these two...'
Roxas made his way to the door, being followed by the house's other occupants. He stopped briefly by the door to grab the keys and write a quick note to his parents, not knowing if he'd be back before they were.
'To Daddy Leon and Daddy Cloud,
Went to a friends house with Sora and Riku. We'll be back at some point. I have my phone so call if you need me.
Love, Roxas
P.S. We have no food.'
He attached the note to the fridge with the Hollow Bastion magnet and quickly turned and walked out the door, making sure to lock it on the way out.
The trio found their way to Roxas's car, the oldest and rustiest car in the parking lot and hopped in, Roxas taking the drivers seat as Riku called shotgun. That, in turn caused Sora to pout which caused Riku to give up his seat for him. Sora gave a wide smile before jumping in beside Roxas, Riku climbing in the back with a grumpy expression.
Roxas turned the keys in the ignition as the car came to life with a loud sputtering noise. He expertly backed out of his parking space and switched on the radio.
"Buckle up!" He announced before taking off down the road towards Demyx's apartment. He knew where that was for only one reason: Axel.
In the past, Roxas had let Axel borrow some notes for a test, being the good friend that he is. But, being the not so good friend that Axel was, he forgot the notes when he went to his friend Demyx's house. Of course, the redhead didn't even get the notes back for him. Roxas had to get directions from Demyx and stop by to get them himself after school. That's when he decided to never let Axel borrow notes from him again.
He drove down the road, lost in his own thoughts. He vaguely heard Sora yelling something and Riku telling him to quiet down.
Roxas sighed.
Yeah. This will be a change from the usual for sure. If it was a good or bad change, he wasn't sure yet. But he was sure he would find out soon enough.
***\(-_-)/***
Today was a great day.
It was peaceful and quiet, no one to disturb him. Just how he liked it.
Zexion held a book in his hand as he leaned back in his chair some, trying to relieve his slowly numbing butt. He had been sitting in that old wooden chair in the towns only library for hours. Of course, he was so lost in his book that he hadn't even realized the time flying by.
How many times has he read this book? This was the 34th time he believed, and yet it was still so fascinating. Yes, this was his favorite book that he carried around wherever he went. There are many jokes about his obsession over this particular book. Axel seems to find it funny to call the book his 'Lexicon'. There is a story about it but we won't divulge into it now.
'The Book That Never Was' was the books title. Written by the glorious man called Ansem the Wise. Oh yes, he could still remember the first time he read this book and also remember how he immediately fell in love with it.
His mother eventually got tired of him spending all day and night at the library and bought him a hard cover copy of the book. He was so excited by this gift, even if he didn't show it. He just kindly thanked his mother and went off to the library to read it, defeating the purpose of him receiving the book in the first place.
How long ago was that? Oh, who knows. All that matters is that he had the book now and didn't plan on putting it down until he finished it for the 34th time.
Today was such a nice day. He could just spend everyday like this.
Ah. Bliss.
That's when his ever annoying cell phone decided to ring and smash his blissful state into smithereens. He glared at the device that dared to disturb him, wishing the damn thing would explode. However, much to his disappointment, it did not. So, he resigned himself to picking up the phone and practically shoved it to his ear, not bothering to see who it was.
"Hello?" He said, his tone laced with hidden annoyance, not that the person on the other end of the call seemed to realize. His skull was probably too thick to notice even the most simplest of things!
"Hello Zexion!" An annoyingly chipper voice called to him through the damned evil communication device. Why would the idiot pyro be calling him? The only reason he didn't hang up right then and there was pure curiosity as to why the annoying bliss-killer would be calling him.
"What?" He spat out angrily, just wanting to end the conversation quickly and go back to his blissful state with his favorite book in hand.
"No need to be so rude! I'm just trying to be friendly!" He heard the voice say, dripping with fake hurt.
Now was a really bad time to be joking around. He was not in the mood to play these childish games. "I'm hanging up." He said simply, ready to completely dismiss the overzealous idiot who stomped all over his good day.
"No no wait! Don't!" He pleaded suddenly. Zexion wished he was able to reach through the phone to just strangle him.
"What?" He ground out in annoyance, trying desperately to hold on to any calmness he had left. He really wished he hadn't even picked up the phone in the first place. He was just calming down slightly when the chipper voice came back. "I was just wondering if you wanted to come over to Dem's house." Axel said far too happily.
Zexion faltered slightly, taken aback but the redhead's words. Really? He wanted him to go over to Demyx's house?
"Demyx's house?" He asked curiously. He couldn't fathom why the eccentric blonde would want him to come over out of the blue. Or maybe Axel was the one who really wanted him over? No. Not possible.
"Yep. A few others are coming over and he wanted to make sure that I invited you over too! Isn't that nice of him?" The parasite asked.
No way. It was easy to tell that the redhead was lying, but why? What was the point in lying about something like that? He decided to dig in a little deeper.
"And you're not lying?" Zexion asked skeptically, already knowing that he was. He just wanted to see how the redhead would react.
"No." He replied simply. Zexion would give him one more chance.
"You're being serious?" He asked as he raised an eyebrow, even though Axel couldn't see him. Did the idiot know how bad of a liar he was?
"Yep." Axel replied without a moments hesitation.
Yeah... There was no way he was agreeing to this. Axel was obviously lying about the fact that Demyx wanted him over of all people. Obviously, the pyro just wanted a good laugh at him. He would show up at Demyx's house and would knock on the door. Then, when the blonde musician would the door, he wouldn't have any idea why he would be there at his doorstep. So therefore, there is no way he was going to-
"I'll be there soon." The words left his mouth before he could stop himself. Shit.
"Good! I'll be sure to tell him! See ya later Zex!" Axel announced before abruptly hanging up, not wanting him to change his mind.
Zexion was frozen, still holding the cell phone to his ear as it started beeping, signifying there was no one on the end of the call.
What the hell had he been thinking?! Why on earth would he agree to that? Today was supposed to be a peaceful, relaxing day at the library with his favorite book in hand. But nooooo! The damn parasite pyro just had to call him and ruin everything! If the idiot hadn't brought up Demyx then he probably never would have agreed to it.
Wait- what did bringing Demyx into this have anything to do with his decision? Well maybe, just maybe Zexion had a soft spot for the hyperactive blonde, but who wouldn't? He was just one of those people that everyone liked. They had been friends for a while and he had to admit, he was fairly likable. But no. Zexion DID NOT, and I repeat, DID NOT have a crush on him. No way in hell. He may like Demyx as a friend, but there was no way he had any romantic feelings towards him.
Zexion slowly brought his phone down from his ear and hung it up. He threw the phone in his back pocket as he stood up from his chair and shut his book, forgetting to bookmark his page. He just turned around and calmly walked out through the door with the book under his arm. It was amazing how his body could function without his brain. Zexion was in so much denial that his brain literally stopped functioning. But, even if it wasn't functioning, he knew exactly where to go.
Demyx's house.
