point of view:

Talia Nature

I stare at the moon with fascination. It guided me out of the darkness, but how?

It's cold and goose bumps are starting to spread up my arms.

The moon lifts me gently in the air then places me back down on the soft grass. I take a second to myself and think.

'Where am I?'

I look around at my beautiful surroundings. My lungs fill with the scent of the fresh doe droppings on the grass, and the minty, cooling breeze that had blown by. I was in an opened field. There's a small pond behind me and trees surrounding the area. I smile from what my senses have collected about my surroundings, but it doesn't answer the question… where am I?

I turn back to the moon and scrunch my eyebrows in curiosity.

"Where am I?" I ask out loud.

He said nothing back. The air began to ring with silence. I guess he's not going to answer.

I see a something in the tall grass a few feet away. I get on my hands and knees and crawl to the mysterious item. It was a ruck sack. I pick up the bag and inspect it. Inside lie a bow and a countless amount arrows. I swing the rucksack over my shoulders and stand. It's surprisingly weightless on my shoulders.

I look up to the moon and smile. "Is this mine?"

The moon's glow began to grow brighter then slowly faded, and somehow, I knew he was saying yes.

"Ok then." I giggle.

I pulled out the bow from the bag on my bag and look at it. The wooden bow has floral design carving on the side of it. I don't know how to shoot a bow and arrow, but it feels so natural holding it in my hands.

I hold up my bow, and aim for a tree in the distance. I take a deep breath, relax my fingers, and let go of the arrow. The arrow takes off at a high speed and I can see it hit the tree, exactly where I aimed it to go.

"I didn't know I could do that." Excitement rushes through me and I jump up and down in the air. "That was amazing, how did I do that?! I've never taken archery in my…" Then I stop.

I don't remember taking archery, I don't know where I am, and I don't even know my name.

I put the bow back in my ruck sack and begin to run. When I was looking around to find out where I was, I saw some lights in the distance, it could be a town. The lights in the distance became clearer. The buildings of the town started to get bigger and bigger.

I final got to the town, but it seems pretty empty. Not much people are out. Maybe somebody knows who I am.

I walk up to a man whose sitting on the steps of an apartment building, smoking a cigar. He looks pretty upset, but I need help.

"Hello sir, I was wondering if you could help me, I'm afraid that I don't really remember where…" the man stood up, threw the cigar on the ground, and walked away.

How rude, I was talking to him and he just walks away! I decided to take action, I ran in front of him and help my arms out, blocking his path

"HEY! Sir, I'm trying to talk to…"

Whoosh.

He…he just walked through me.

I begin to panic and run up to a woman walking on the side walk.

"Ma'am?" The women didn't even look up, or say a word. She just kept walking. And then it happened again.

Nobody can hear me.

A pain in my chest spreads throughout my body. I slowly drop my arms to my sides and turn around. The man was still walking away, like nothing just happened. My eyes swell with tears. I sniff, trying to hold back the tears, but it doesn't work. I walk back to the steps that the man was perched on, and rap my arms around my knees. Tears begin to run down my face and I frantically wipe away with the sleeve of my worn out shirt, but it's no use. I begin to break down and sob, covering my eye with my hands.

I'm all alone, don't know where I am and nobody can see me. You can't blame me for being scared.

After about 20 minutes of crying, I lift my head up and notice it's snowing.

"Snow?" I held out my hands in hopes of catching snowflakes. My hands are too wet from the tears, causing them to not stick.

I let out a puff of air and begin to take deep breaths, hoping that they will calm me down. Then a snow flake lands on my nose, and I smile. I break out into laughter and my sadness fades away.

What are the chances of a snowflake landing right on the tip of my nose?

A cold but sudden wind blew through the air, causing the snow flake to slowly fall to the ground. I furrow my eyebrows and look up at the sky, and then hear a whisper in my ear. It sounded like somebody was right there next to me, but it was just the wind. Then I heard it again.

I got up and ran into the street, thinking it would help me hear. I feel the cold breeze brush against my ear, and hear the words clearly.

"Jack frost?"

I spin around and our eyes meet. Here I stand, Face-to-face with Jack Frost.
