So I've noticed that most of the E.N.D fics, (at least the one's I've seen) —don't seem to involve Natsu turning into E.N.D, but more what happens when he is E.N.D. So I decided to write this for you all.

So this is going to be posted as a two shot, one from Natsu's POV and one from Lucy's. I saw this thing about how the bandages on Natsu's arm have seen kind of suspicious, because even when he takes off his shirt there is still those bandages. So this is based off that.

ALSO THIS IS SOMETIME AFTER THEY SAVE LAMIA SCALE AND WENDY'S WITH THEM (But I have no idea how that's going to go down so…. If you're reading this after that's resolved it might not be accurate.)

He didn't tell Happy. He didn't tell Gildarts when he ran into him. He didn't mention it to Wendy in a passing breath. He most definitely did not tell Lucy. He might've told Igneel if he had the chance, but he hadn't, and now there was no one he would tell. He couldn't imagine what would happen if he did. What Lucy would do if he did.

So instead he covered it up with bandages. They had plenty of them in store; they would be idiots if they didn't bring an abundance of medical supplies while on their journey. He changed the bandages when he was taking a bath in a river or stream. It wasn't like it was hard to hide the quick changing of linen from Happy—he was only a small cat after all and far more preoccupied with other matters.

He had just been on a particularly grueling training regimen, effortlessly pounding out flame magic in every which way. That night upon arriving at some small town, Happy flew off to get some fish and Natsu was left alone to undress and get ready for bed.

His arm had been bothering him that day, aching and burning in odd ways, almost like someone was burning a pattern into his skin. So what did he do when it hurt more? He trained more with that arm of course! That arm would have to be the most powerful arm in the history of existence.

When he had whipped off his cloak and examined his arm, he had expected some sort of burn. It had happened before, sometimes his skin could be burned. It just usually healed faster, and only hurt for a little bit. He was not expecting the black spiraling marks, wrapping around that section of his arm in gentle waves. They weren't human words, but somehow he could read the patterns, he knew what it meant.

Almost like it had been programmed into his brain.

That made him grab the bandages and wrap his arm up tightly. If he covered it long enough—surely it would just vanish. The next day, he went to the Grand Magic Games and saw Lucy again.

Now they had Wendy on their side once more, and everything was supposed to be great. They were going to get Fairy Tail back together; he was going to have his old life back. It was supposed to be fantastic. He was supposed to be happy.

He couldn't stop the panic from swelling in his throat as he unwound the bandages that night; he had taken to bathing alone. He knew Happy was offended, but Natsu couldn't let him see what was happening to him. The black marks had spread, oh yes they had, curving up over his shoulder blades and down across his chest, moving to curl their ugly black tentacles down the back of his legs. They were taking over his skin.

Still he could read what they said. Obviously it was not in a language known to…humans. He shoved the thought away as soon as it came to mind. He was human wasn't he? This was just some odd kind of rash. It would go away soon—it just had to. He was making up the words in his head.

He climbed out of the pond he was rinsing off in and pulled his pants on, fastening the belt tightly. He would need to make sure that all of his body was covered. He reached up to run his hands through his pink hair, and stabbed his finger on something sharp hiding just under the soft locks.

"What the hell?" he muttered to himself, bending down to take a look at his reflection in the water. After readjusting his hair some, he found what he was looking for. "This can't be happening," he whispered to himself, as he probed experimentally at the horn—horn! That was sprouting from his head. It almost looked like it was growing from his head.

He reached for his scarf, which was resting beside the ponds edge. Wearing his scarf always made him feel safer. Even if Igneel was dead, he almost feel his Father's warmth radiating out, engulfing him.

I wouldn't put that back on if I were you. Natsu's hand jerked away, and out of shock he took several steps back. The voice had been inside his head he was sure, but it was cold and dark and…scary. Natsu was scared of few things, but this voice, this voice that had suddenly come to life in his sub-conscious was scaring the living daylights out of him.

He tried once more to reach for his scarf, but his hand froze. It wouldn't move an inch. He tried his other hand—hell he even tried moving forward with his feet and picking it up with his toes, but to no success.

Then his hand started to move on it's own. It reached towards his shoulder, the shoulder with the Fairy Tail mark. It closed around the skin there, the skin bearing the mark, and closed around it. Natsu heard himself cry out in pain as his nails scraped against it, nails that were suddenly sharp and claw like. He was literally tearing off the skin there, tearing off his mark.

"What—please—" Natsu's voice broke. Natsu's voice never broke. He never cried, he never even let himself show pain. This was something different though; it was like something dark was filling the crevices of his mind, slowly creeping over his soul with cold tendrils. A monster was living in his mind.

I've been waiting for you to take that scarf off for ages. The voice said next.

"Natsu?!" Lucy.

"NO! "Natsu's voice came out a strangled yell. "LUCY—PLEASE—" his voice was cut off abruptly, and as he struggled to talk, to express to her to get the hell away and fast, his mouth opened again. "Sorry Luce!" he called, although it wasn't Natsu. He was willing his mouth to close, to stop the words that poured forth like water. "Voice mimicking beast. I took care of it no problem."

"Are you sure you don't need any help?" Lucy asked curiously, he could hear and smell that she was closer.

"Actually—" Natsu began in that voice that wasn't his, it wasn't him. Natsu willed his mind to speak to shout to warn Lucy that something was going on. That his worse fears had come true. "LUCY STAY BACK!" he managed to just barely scream, and the pain that came with that force of sheer will was excruciating.

He fell to his knees, the voice was screaming too. They were both in pain as Natsu continued to battle against the darkness that was slipping slowly but surely into his mind. He wasn't even sure how he was doing it, but all he knew was that if Lucy got any closer he could hurt her, and that was not an option.

"Natsu?!" Lucy broke through the trees, blonde hair swinging, brown eyes flashing. "I thought you were just going to take a bath—"

"Lucy please," Natsu begged, in control of the mouth for just a moment. "You need to—" the monster inside of him took control of his mouth in the next second. "Lucy please don't go," it mimicked his voice.

"Natsu—what are those markings on your arm?" Lucy began shakily, her hand reaching for her key belt.

"I wouldn't try reaching for those," his mouth said, and Natsu could feel himself slipping further away even as he struggled for purchase. Surely something couldn't take control of him this easily could it? "You would only get yourself hurt."

"Who are you?" Lucy cried, and Natsu could feel the pain and confusion in her voice. "What kind of thing just possesses people for fun?"

"Oh, I'm not possessing him," the voice assured her. "I've always been here."

"Natsu… we'll find Levy. Or Erza, or whoever—we'll get this spell taken off you I promise, just hold on for a little longer."

"Go on," the voice said, "Speak to her Natsu." Natsu found the ability to speak again, but every word felt slow, stupid.

"Run…Luce," he got out, "Please." He felt a tear stream out of the corner of his eye, and distantly felt the wound where his Fairy Tail mark used to be stinging.

"Natsu—"

"PLEASE!" he shouted, and lifted his hands to clench at his hair. "He's almost got control—I can't hurt you—get Wendy and Happy and Carla and get the hell out."

"I can't just leave you behind!"

"Yes you can," he said, and tried for a smile. "Listen, I ain't giving up. Not now, not ever. But for right now, I'm in the middle of a losing battle, so just run. Please run. Oh, and do one more thing for me,"

"Anything."

"Get Fairy Tail back together. If only to—if only to destroy me. Luce I'm—" and then he lost control of the mouth. The creature inside him, the creature that had been there all along, took control. "Etherious Natsu Dragneel is what he meant to say I'm sure."

The markings on his arm? The one that he could read but shouldn't be able to? They were three simple letters. Three letters that rang through his head as Lucy ran back through the trees, Natsu's will the only thing keeping the beast inside from attacking her.

He was E.N.D, and he was going to be the destruction of them all.
