Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon
Hello guys! This will be my first Pokemon fanfic so please give me input!
I was just practising typing whatever I felt like. Then I thought it was pretty good so I edited and added on and it turned into this! I hope you like it!
This is written in first person, but the character is not based off me. It is about a girl named Amaya(Pronounced: Uh-my-uh). I don't know why I did this, I just started it that way and decided to keep it.
I was walking through a small forest. A cool breeze was rippling through the trees and blowing across my lightly tanned skin. The air smelled fresh and clean from yesterdays rain. The birds chirped in the trees and the squirrels rustled in the undergrowth, all the busy sounds of animals going about their lives. I was a normal 13 year old girl- well not exactly, I mean what teenager really is normal? but you get the point, I wasn't extremely different in some noticeable way. Anyway, I was enjoying my last day of summer vacation. I loved art and the ever changing forest was a perfect inspiration, for that reason I often came here.
I was not looking forward to the school year ahead. Why does summer break ever have to end? I sighed. I'll live, at least I'll get to see my friends, I thought, starting to feel a bit more optimistic. I looked for a place to sit in these green woods.
I stopped in front of a low branch that stuck out from the side of a tree. I reached out out with my arm and grabbed the branch. I leaned into it to see how strong it was and if it would hold my weight. The branch was sturdy and held still without swaying. I braced my arms and bent them slightly, I jumped up a bit and pushed with my arms, swinging my feet over the branch. I lowered myself into a sitting position on the branch.
I brushed my chocolate brown bangs to the side, back into their usual position, and pushed my long hair over my shoulder. Then I leaned back against the trunk of the tree, thinking about school. I sat there for quite a long while, just sitting, thinking, and watching. After a while I noticed the sun starting to set on the bit of horizon that I could see through the trees.
I regretfully pushed myself off the tree. I landed on my feet and brushed debris off my jeans. Then I began to walk back through the forest that I knew so well. I went slowly, listening to the forest sounds that always reassured me. I didn't hurry, knowing my mom wouldn't mind me being a bit late on the last day of summer break.
With a start I noticed that I didn't recognize my surroundings. Where am I? I thought I knew this forest so well... I guess I wasn't paying enough attention. What do I do now? I thought, beginning to panic. I took a deep breath and let it out slowly. Be calm and everything will work out...I hope. I slowly began to walk around, keeping my eyes peeled for any sign of something familiar. All thoughts from earlier, about school and my art, left my mind. The sounds of the forest faded into the background and the only thing that mattered to me was getting out of the woods.
Soon the sun completely disappeared from view, leaving the black night with only a few stars providing any light. It was the new moon and the darkness seemed to push in from every angle, smothering me. The earlier calm forgotten, I began to race through the forest. My clothes snagged on various things but I didn't care. I heard an echoing screech but had no clue where it came from, I ran harder. I could see nothing in the black, I ran so fast that I saw sparkles dance across my vision, but this didn't do any good for me seeing anything useful. More confused than ever I kept going, my feet kicking up dust and me almost tripping over logs. My heart thudded so hard I could barely hear myself think, as I frantically tried to figure out where I was.
Suddenly, my foot got lodged under what I thought was a very large rock, though I couldn't tell in the darkness. I lurched forward and couldn't keep my balance. I fell to my hands and knees, a small cry escaping my mouth. My sky blue eyes that had a touch of grey in them watered and my breath was knocked out of me. I tried desperately to breathe. I closed my eyes and managed to fill my lungs with air.
For a second everything was okay, that was until I noticed the harsh throbbing in my ankle. I gasped in pain and squinted, trying to figure out how badly I had hurt my ankle. I hope I didn't sprain it! I thought miserably. Despite all my effort to discover my ankle's condition, the lack of light made it impossible to tell. I decided to stay off of it just in case.
I soon realized that I needed to keep going. I began to crawl slowly across the ground. I winced even though my ankle was held carefully out of the way. I had gone what seemed to me a long way and I was about to give up. How could something so horrible happen? Today was suppose to be a nice last day of summer break. But of course not! Why can't things ever work out for me? I threw my hands up in frustration, still kneeling on the ground.
When I put my hands back on the ground, one of them brushed against something strange. Curious, I looked for it. In a moment I found what I was looking for. Though I couldn't see it, I inspected the object. After some thought I decided it was a metal cube, too big to fit in my hand, but not much bigger than both of my hands together. On top of the metal was something round and plastic. A button. I wonder what it does... I thought with a sigh.
When I had discovered the odd object, I had been distracted from my problems, but now it all came back. What should I do now? I hesitated, forcing myself to ignore my pain. Should I press the button? I thought, unsure. I guess so...I mean how much trouble could pressing a button cause? I thought, slightly dazed and not thinking entirely straight.
I pushed my hand down on the button, ignoring the uneasy feeling in my stomach. Almost right after I had pushed the button I realized it had been a mistake, but it was too late. I wonder what will hap-
My thoughts were cut off abruptly as white-ish light flashed before my eyes and I wasn't very aware for a moment. I sucked in a breath and waited for my vision to come back. Slowly things darkened and began to get some definition. I could vaguely see the blurred shapes of trees and- Animals? No not exactly. They look quite a bit different. But what are they? I thought in confusion. My vision began to darken around the edges and I fought for consciousness. I dimly realized that the animal-like-things looked familiar before everything went foggy and I blacked out.
So there it is! The first chapter of my first Pokemon fanfic!
I hope you liked it! Please review and give me input!
Note: I might be a little slow to update this because this is the second story I am working on and I have other stuff to do.
