They say ev'rything can be replaced
Yet ev'ry distance is not near
So I remember ev'ry face
Of ev'ry man who put me here
I watched as they put him in the cell across from mine. He screamed and shouted that they got the wrong guy. But they didn't listen, they all just denied.
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east
Any day now, any day now
I shall be released
He screamed and shouted all different colors.
He lasted so much longer than any of the others.
But one day he'll fall silent, like all those who do, everytime someone is put in a room.
They say ev'ry man needs protection
They say ev'ry man must fall
Yet I swear I see my reflection
Some place so high above this wall
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east
Any day now, any day now
I shall be released
And eventually, he fell quite.
No more shouting in colors, no more screaming for release.
No, for like all of the others, he fell silent in everything but sleep.
Standing next to me in this lonely crowd
Is a man who swears he's not to blame
All day long I hear him shout so loud
Crying out that he was framed
Framed. He used to shout.
But they never listened, no not ever.
I was the only one that could see
The truth that his eyes held when he looked at me.
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east
Any day now, any day now
I shall be released
And then he was gone.
Not dead, but gone.
He escaped in the night, the thing no one had done.
I had been here a long time, many years I have.
They thought he was mad, heck, they thought I was mad.
I probably was, I could never really tell.
But I knew for sure, that he was the one and first to survive the Prison of Azkaban and escape with his life.
When I saw him slip though the bars, and away from the Azkaban guards, I thought to myself
Good luck, Sirius Black, the man that was framed...
