Takes place in London, England on Halloween. Peter is still a child.
Peter flies over London with Tink by his side; he can feel the cold breeze hit him as he flies. He looks down to see kids running door to door shrieking, screaming, and laughing with glee. Peter came close to the park were a party was going on, he didn't see himself as being real close to the ground until a bunch of kids ran by. Peter saw them as monsters and hid in the tree tops. Peter, been though being a child himself, hadn't celebrated Halloween for a long, long, time. He hadn't celebrated it since before he ran away and they didn't wear such realistic costumes then.
A child ran by dressed as Tinkerbelle, which both she and peter noticed and starred in confusion.
"Grand-mother! Grand-mother!" the child yelled happily across the park running towards an old lady in the midst of a conversation with the child mom. "Look how much candy I have gotten!"
"My word, that is a lot of candy, you're going to eat all of that?" she said amusing the child
"I sure am!" she said running after her friends, the adults laughed as they continued with their conversation.
Peter watched all the commotion as people danced and ate candy, scared each other and laughed at each other. "Wow Tink, that sure looks like lots of fun, I wish I could join…"
The kid in the Tinkerbelle costume ran under the tree playing tag and stopped to catch her breath. Peter accidentally rustled in the tree, catching her attention.
"Boy, why are you up there?"
This caught peter off guard, he wasn't planning on getting caught, he had mind to fly away, but found he just couldn't.
"Are you okay?" she asked, for he hadn't answered
"I-I'm fine." Peter said he hadn't talked to that many people that he didn't know, except for Wendy, john and Michael, but he became friends with them.
"Then… won't you come down here?"
Peter looked over at Tink "stay here Tink…" he whispered, Tinkerbelle got low and watched a peter climbed down the tree, using slight flying that was barely even noticed.
"What's your name?"
"Peter."
The girl laughed a bit to herself, "is that the person you're dressed as, or is that your real name?"
"It's…my real name." sort of confused by what she had said
"Well, alright then. My name is Sophie." She said stretching her arm out, peter remember the last time a hand was stretched out like that he was suppose to shake it, so he did so. Yet he did it rather weirdly which made Sophie laugh.
"Have ever gone trick-or-treating before?"
"No, what is that?
"It's when you go door to door on Halloween, and get candy!"
"What's Halloween?"
"It's a holiday when you dress up, like that!" she said pointing at a kid running by in a reptile costume.
Peter scratched his head a bit
"Haven't you celebrated it before?" she asked
"Well, I might have a long time ago, but I'm not sure."
"Here, come with me, I'll get an extra trick-or-treating bag, and we'll go trick-or-treating together." She took him by the arm and dragged him away. Seeing this Tinkerbelle followed to make sure peter was going to be okay.
Sophie went up to her, mom, dad, and grandmother. "Sophie, Darling, who is this?" her mother asked
"This is peter, he's never been trick or treating before, do we have any spare bags." Peter remembered Wendy's mom calling Wendy that, this could have been a coincidence, but peter wasn't so sure.
"We, here you darling." She wasn't looking as Tink flew in and was handed to peter, peter didn't see her.
"Thank you miss." He said
"You, know, you remind me of someone that my grandmother knew." The grandmother said, remembering the stories and sketches of peter that her own grandmother showed her.
"How, could you remember something like that?"
"You don't forget something as great as-as, oh what was it?… Oh yes Peter pan!"
Peter's eyes lit up
"I suppose he does look a lot like him, but those were just sketches."
Peter couldn't help but ask, "Who was your grandmother?"
The old woman smiled warmly, "Her name was Wendy, Wendy Moira Angela Darling."
"Oh, Wendy's enough." Sophie's mom joked, everyone laughed except for Peter
"Wendy?"
"Yeah, peter, her name was Wendy, she's my Great-great-great-grandmother, but she isn't around anymore…"
"She isn't? Where is she?"
"Oh my, you are peter." The old woman said with a hand to her heart, she crouched down to here, "my boy, Wendy is so far more older than she was before, if she was still alive she would be at least 135 years old.'
"She's dead?" he said heartbroken, with tears streaming from his eyes
"I'm sorry, peter, but it's true."
Peter wiped away a tear 'big kids don't cry.' He reminded himself.
"I'm sorry Peter." Sophie said, "It's hard losing a friend."
"At least go and have some fun before you return to Never Land, I'm sure your lost boy's would really enjoy a bag full of candy." The grandmother said, peter half heatedly smiled as he and Sophie walked away.
"I sure hope he'll be okay." Sophie's mom said
"I'm sure he'll be just fine."
Happy Halloween! Review!
