The supernatural fighters were both pacing around in Stiles' room, trying to figure out the end of the puzzle that they had gotten themselves entangled into, once again. Lydia knew that he was getting frustrated and so was she. There was yet another intake of breath coming from his mouth that caught her attention.

"Stiles, calm down. We're gonna figure this out..."

He inhaled once again and turned to his bed, sitting at the end.

"Yeah, it's highly unlikely at this point"

"Oh, come on... who knows better in this stuff than us, right?"

"I'm not talking about this..."

"Then, what are you talking about?"

Stiles glanced at her as she found a seat next to him...

"I don't know, I just keep on looking once at everything and... it's just makes me feel like a failure, you know? The long red threads around the board makes me feel like I accomplished nothing"

"Hey, you helped lots of times in this, all right? You don't need research, you don't need facts... you just need logic and that's what makes you smart. You piece it all together and you figure it out all on your own. I'm not really sure what I'm doing here because I'm pretty much useless"

Stiles chuckled slightly...

"Well, you're a good distraction" he replied, looking in her eyes.

She pierced her lips together, smiling.

"We'll get through this, all right? There's no doubt in my mind that your big brain in there will figure this whole thing out and we'll go back to being, not so normal again" she whispered.

"Wow, that's a nice choice of words" he breathed.

Lydia smiled slightly and placed one of her hands on his leg. Stiles looked down and then back into her eyes again. He stared deeply in her eyes before he scooted closer to her and leaned his face closer to hers. He gave her enough space to pull away but surprisingly, she didn't. He moved his hand up to her cheek and closed his eyes tightly before leaning in and captured her mouth with his. Lydia wasn't actually surprised by his move but gasped slightly once she felt his tongue brushing over her lower lip.

He pulled away after a few seconds yet he still kept his eyes closed for the second that followed, as did Lydia. They both stared at each other before she got the courage to speak again...

"Now that that's out of the way... you mind getting back to work?"

Stiles smiled and rambled...

"Yeah, yeah, of course... back to work" before standing up from the bed once again.

Lydia smiled before she stood up and joined his pacing once again.
