Spoilers / Must Have Seen: Christmas Invasion, Series 4 Children In Need Special
The Doctor walked into the wardrobe. He took a bite out of the apple he had found in the robe he was wearing as he shuffled the clothes around, uncertain of what he was looking for.
He grabbed a long, red coat, holding it up to himself in front of the mirror. It occurred to him then that he hadn't even looked in a mirror since his regeneration, and he leaned forward to look at his face.
Big, brown hair, he liked that. It wasn't ginger, but beggars can't be choosers. His face was kind of thin and bony, but not in a creepy way. He rather liked that his nose and ears were normally proportioned, and his eyes had an energetic sparkle.
He straightened, holding up the coat. Shaking his head, he returned it to its hanger, and glanced through the clothes again.
Then a thought hit him. No, a memory.
Putting the apple down, he walked back over to the mirror. Yes, he definitely recognized that man. Young, thin, talkative, make that very talkative, and broad-grinned.
He jogged over to a box and rummaged through it, his hands passing over various rings, bracelets, necklaces and other accessories, which he never remembered wearing, until he found what he was looking for.
He walked back over to the mirror and slipped on the black-framed glasses. He grinned to himself before dashing over to the racks of clothes, pushing them aside as he went to the back wall. He shoved aside boots, tennis shoes and the occasional mitten before he found the pair of red trainers, which he didn't remember buying, and brought them over to the mirror.
He held up the trainers so he could see them in the mirror. He grinned.
Not only was this new regeneration young and full of energy, but it was the one that he already knew. He almost glowed with anticipation - eventually, before he died, he was going to meet the Doctor.
