Set after the prince and Snow White share their first kiss and leave the dwarves to head home to his castle.

Snow White and the prince stood on a ridge as he surveyed the land for the quickest route home. He would be stuck walking most of the way since he didn't want to tire his horse with two people riding. He saw a track through a field of lavender and honeysuckle.

"Let's go home Snow White," he patted the horse's neck and took hold of the reins.

"How did you know my name?" Her voice made him pause.

"Um, I didn't." He felt awkward as he turned to look at her, "That's my horse's name."

"This just won't do," she sat up straight, "We must correct this at once."

"How do you propose that?"

"We'll change the horse's name of course."

"Who decided this?" The prince became indignant.

"Well it wouldn't make sense to have two of the same name would it?"

The prince clenched his teeth. This girl was quite an annoyance now. Maybe he should of left her with the dwarves. "I'm not changing my horse's name."

"Why ever not?" Confusion tinted her voice.

"Because it's not fair to change his name just because you have the same one. Besides he's been with me since I was twelve. We could change your name instead."

"To what?"

"I don't know, how about Ellie or Madison, or maybe Janelle?"

Snow White shook her head. "My mother gave me my name before she died. So it will have to be your horse's name that changes."

The horse at this point couldn't believe his ears. They were arguing over who got to keep such a lame name? If he could talk he would call them fools and tell them that he didn't care if his name was changed. But since he couldn't, he was stuck with these two fighting over names.

"No way!"

"How about a compromise?"

That caught the prince's attention, "Compromise?"

"Yes, you can call me Snow when addressing me and call the horse White. There, simple."

It seemed so easy but the prince didn't have such a good memory for such things. That was why the horse had such a simple name because it described his snow white coat. He could remember the day that his father had given him the horse.

The horse was newly broken and still had moments of disobediance. But the prince loved him at first sight. When the sun came out, the horse was bathed in brilliant light and it blinded the prince. From then on he was named Snow White for his brilliant coat.

"That seems awfully hard."

"Then I don't know what to do!" She crossed her arms over her chest.

The prince thought for a moment. He glanced up at his bride-to-be and an idea sparked. "I know what to do."

Snow White glanced at him. "You do?"

He didn't reply. He took her hand and brought her down from the saddle. She looked up at him in confusion. He cupped the back of her head and kissed her. The argument fled from Snow White's mind as she returned the kiss.

The horse snorted as though to say 'About bloody time!' The kiss ended and they walked through the field holding hands.

This is where we shall leave them. I'm sure the argument will come up again and the prince will have to find a new way to distract her. But for now they lived happily ever after.

The End
