BWinner's Note: I got to work on Grell's lovely little poem pretty well right after I finished, "Death Owns a Merry Laugh". I was hella motivated. However, for Grell I thought that a persona poem might be a little on the boring side, so I decided to change it up, at least a little bit. What I've done here is what looks to me like an odd combination between a persona poem and a repetition poem. Actually I agonized over this one, and it's taken me almost a month to put it up because there was just so much that didn't look right to me; things to do with structure, what I thought wasn't allowed to rhyme, etc. When I kept reading it over though it just seemed like Grell every time, so no matter how I tried to re-write it or turn it into something else I just liked this too much… It actually took snagging my former poetry prof. in passing to put my mind at ease about the whole thing. Hopefully you'll all enjoy!

Love is Bloody
In darkness I saw her standing there,
Eyes glazed over with sorrowful stare.
Soft hands stained red, the colour of rage;
Looks like dear madam will first set my stage.
Inside my chest is constant unrest,
We are the same this mad woman and I.
My heart beats; pitter-patter, pitter-patter.
The next fate graced before me,
Held such bitterly cruel irony!
What love could bloom between a reaper,
and a malicious-delicious soul seeker?
Inside my chest is constant unrest,
He thwarts my advances and affections.
My heart races; pitter-patter, pitter-patter.
I will never be able to give up this fight,
Not with all the gorgeous creatures in my sights!
Surely one will treat me as a delicate maiden,
Stop looking at me like some incarnate of Satan!
Inside my chest is constant unrest,
There are so many irresistible choices!
My heart races; pitter-patter, pitter-patter, pitter-patter…
