Rose Petals

Tifa found him at his usual spot, perched on a stool in her bar. His glass wasn't empty which surprised the barmaid but was really odd was what the Turk was doing. He was plucking a rose and letting each petal drop on her immaculate counter. When he saw her staring at him he gave her his cocky grin.

"Hey Teef, how's it going?"

"Why are you doing that?" Tifa asked.

"You didn't answer my question." Reno said.

"I'm fine. Now why on Earth are you doing that?" Reno turned away from her.

"It's a secret."

"Okay…" Tifa said, going off to help another customer.

A few days passed and Reno came to the bar day in and day out with a new rose each time. Tifa was getting very annoyed at all the extra mess this was creating. Once the last of her customers had left for the night she walked over to him, her body language showing her displeasure.

"Reno either you tell me why you've been acting like a dork or I will throw you out of here, got that?" She punctuated her words with a clenched fist. Reno sighed.

"Alright, uncle, you win." Reno got closer, making Tifa a bit nervous and even flustered. "You see Teef there's this girl I love yes I love someone try not to laugh. Anyway I've been trying to impress her with my charms but that hasn't been working so I wondered maybe she doesn't love me. So I've been using the old but trustworthy method of she loves me, she loves me not."

"And what's the verdict?" Reno looked to both sides of the room, as if fearing someone would overhear them. Leaning in close to Tifa's face he gave her the rose. It had one more petal.

"That's entirely up to you." Tifa looked at the Turk with wide eyes.

"You love…me?" Reno nodded. "Why?"

"Well besides your gorgeous body and even more gorgeous eyes I would have to say it's your nature. You, Tifa Lockhart, are one of the most caring people I've ever met. Even more so than Aeris in some ways. Now I know I'm not the most virtuous of people but I won't leave you." Tifa looked down at the flower in her hand. Delicately she plucked the last petal. Then she kissed Reno on the lips chastely. Breaking apart Tifa gave Reno a huge smile.

"She loves you." Tifa said drawing him close and kissing him again.
