This is about my cat, Esther. Her full title is Queen Esther of Avalon.
Esther awoke to the sound of shuffling feet. She looked up sleepily and saw her owner, Kitty, picking up her bowls of water and food. She sat up and licked her shoulders quickly, flattening the fur. Esther then padded over to Kitty while meowing in hunger.
"Hurry up!" She exclaimed. "I'm starved!" Esther rubbed against Kitty's legs and urged her to move faster. As always, she wasn't allowed to leave Kitty's room. She was sure it was because her owner's mother couldn't be near her. Whenever Esther tried rubbing against Kitty's mother, she started to sneeze and struggled to breathe.
Esther stretched and jumped onto the fluffy chair that could move. She stared out of the window and watched cars raced past. She remembered being taught the word 'car' when she was in her previous home. It was such an odd word.
She sighed as memories of her old family flooded her head. Esther thought of the tiny kit that her old housefolk had. She and the kit never got along. He always pet her roughly and was too noisy. She liked her new home better, for Kitty was quiet and gentle.
Esther heard the door being opened and the smell of turkey wafted into the room. She purred and ran towards Kitty, who held a bowl of fresh water and food.
"Thank you!" She purred and waited for Kitty to set down the food. She dug in as soon as she could reach it.
Esther was staring out of the window again. She was lost in her thoughts as more cars passed by. She wanted some adventure. Sure, having a comfortable life was nice, and the room she had to stay in was huge, but she wanted something new.
She decided to explore the house. She was sure she couldn't smell any of her housefolk new the door, so that meant she could make a quick and easy getaway. Esther ran up to the door and nudged it. A small click was heard and she knew the door hadn't been closed all the way. She clawed at it and soon it had opened enough for her to wiggle through.
She sniffed and new scents flooded her nostrils. Esther took in the new surroundings and curiosity urged her forward. Suddenly, arms curled around her and lifted her off of the ground.
"No!" Esther complained. "I just want to see that thing over there! You aren't any fun." She meowed loudly. It was Kitty! She had picked up Esther and deposited her back into her room. Esther sighed. She noticed her evening meal was ready and she ran over to it.
As she ate, she decided that she was happy with what she had. Esther purred contently.
