April Fools' Day
It's April Fools' Day. Every year, Henry gets tricked by someone, and every year, he tells himself that next year will be different. This year, he's wary of everyone and everything, knowing a pie could pop out and hit him in the face at any minute.
"Henry," Natalie says as she walks up to him. "We need to talk."
"Okay," Henry agrees, forgetting to be wary. After all, this is Natalie. She's the last person who would play a prank on him. "What's up?"
Natalie bites her bottom lip. "I…I think we need to break up. I mean, I just need to be alone for now, you know?"
"But…but…" Henry murmurs, shocked. "But what happened to 'perfect for you?' And squaring all the corners and straightening the curves?"
Natalie shrugs sadly. "I'm sorry, but it's just not working for me anymore. But I hope we can still be friends."
"All right," Henry says dejectedly. He is about to turn away from Natalie when she speaks again.
"Oh, and Henry?"
"Yeah?"
Her face turns into a big grin as she moves closer to him. "April Fools."
