Harry Potter sighed, something he seemed to be doing a lot of recently. A few steps ahead was Akulina, walking briskly to wherever it was they were going. He had to stretch his legs to match her pace. Around them he could feel the half damp air of a dungeon, which had undoubtedly caused his chest to feel funny. The strongest feeling came from the area just as his ribcage ended. It felt squiggly, like worms were rolling around in there.
Trying to get his mind off the squiggly feeling, he studied the walls as they passed them. This was an old part of the dungeons, probably one that hadn't been visited in a long time. It was odd to him, that despite all the pranks he had done in the dungeons he still hadn't learned all the hallways and passages. He sighed because he'd probably never live long enough for the knowledge to matter anyway.
"Please, spare me Potter. I could do with a day minus your incessant drama." Akulina snapped back at him, not bothering to turn around. Her voice was cold and haughty as always, but it held a tremor that wasn't normal.
"I --" Harry started, wanting to comfort her but not knowing the words. How did you comfort a self-sufficient Slytherin?
"Shut it Potter." She stopped this time and sneered. After checking and making sure the corridor was clear, she placed her hand on the wall nearest and muttered what Harry assumed was the password. The wall slid open with a hiss.
When Harry hesitated on the threshold, unsure what this future held for him. Akulina, in no mood for second thoughts, pushed him in.
"You never told me what you gained from this." Harry asked, finally voicing the question that had burned brightest in his mind. It felt like a weight had been taken off his shoulders at the question, but now it hung over his head waiting for her answer.
"My reasons are not for you to know." The weight fell back down, and was heavier now for its absence. Akulina backed away, and the door hissed closed. The feeling in his chest was stronger now, but he figured it was only his lunch wanting out. Taking a deep breath, he realized that this was it; there was no turning back. From that moment onward, Harry Potter was dead.
End.
