Elena sighed as she went up the stairs to the attic. She hated going up there. It scared her. The darkness and the rats. But she didn't have a choice. She needed to find her birth certificate, if she wanted to get her dream job of being a writer. She doesn't know why they want it but they do. Elena reaches the attic. She turns on the lights and looks around. She sees boxes full of things in them. Great. This is going to take a while.
She searches the first box to her left. She opens it and smiles. It has pictures of her and her family. Elena keeps digging to see if she can find more pictures but instead she finds a book. A yearbook to be specific. Her smile grew wider. It was her highschool yearbook. On the cover it said "Class Of 2007". Elena's eyes grew wild. Wow. 2007. It's been 11 years.
Elena sits down and opens the book. She flips the first page and laughs. Her principal had the most stupid haircut. Elena continues flipping the pages. She finds her class. Mr. Saltzmen's class. Her and her best friends were all in the class together. She smiled when she found her best friends. Bonnie Bennett, Caroline Forbes, Tyler Lockwood and Matt Donovan.
God, she missed them. Elena was the only one who left town. The rest of them stayed and lived their lives. She hasn't seen them in 11 years.
Her eyes flickered to a guy. Damon Salvatore. Her boyfriend. Elena's fingers went over the picture. They were together, for about 3 years. Until he broke up with her during Prom. In front of the whole school. It was heartbreaking and embarrassing. Elena flipped the next page. She read the headline. It says "The Queen and King". The page was full of pictures of Elena and Damon. Most of the pictures were them hugging, kissing or just hanging out. She missed those days.
Elena then closed her yearbook and put it back. She was getting distracted.
After about 10 minutes of looking, she finds her birth certificate. Elena then turns off the lights as she makes her way down the stairs. She puts down the certificate on the counter while she makes herself food.
She finishes making food and makes her way to her couch. Elena's been single for awhile now. 2 years. The last guy she dated cheated on her. She felt alone in this world.
She turned on the TV. She finds a movie she likes. The movie finished at 1:24 am. And she wasn't even tired. She decided to go on her computer. She went on a website for single woman. It finds the men near them. Elena was about to make an account until she got an email. Elena opened her Gmail. It was from an unknown email. She was about to delete until she saw the words "Mystic Falls". Her hometown. She opened the email and read it.
It was an invitation. Her highschool was having a reunion.
Elena couldn't be happier. She wanted to go back but didn't because when she left, she vowed to never go back. But now she had an excuse.
The date said February 5th, she had less than a week to get ready. Elena was already nervous. She thought nobody would want her back, not after what she did. But it wouldn't hurt to go right?
Elena decided she would go. But first she needed a new dress. She'll call Rose in the morning to see if she wants to go shopping with me. And hopefully, her friends don't hate her as much as she thinks. But that's for tomorrow. Right now it's time for sleep.

Elena groans as her alarm clock rings. She gets up and rubs her eyes. Elena made her way to the bathroom.
After getting ready, she called her friend Rose.
It rings 4 times before she picks up.
"Hello?"
"Hey Rose!"
"Hey Lena? What's up?"
"I was hoping if you could go shopping with me?"
"Yes of course! But can I ask why? Usually I have to make you come with me. Why now?"
Elena sighs before she answers. "I got invited to my highschool reunion and I want to go. But I need better clothes"
"Oh ok. Fine what time you want to meet up?"
"How about now? If you're not busy".
"Sure. I'll meet you at the mall ok?"
"Yeah ok bye"
"Bye"
