A/N: This one was inspired by a request from a reviewer. I promised them that I would work on it as soon as I finished Shadowland, so here it is. Hopefully, if I can finish the chapter in time (in time being before ten at night) I can put up the next chapter of Young Young Master as well. Maybe even Things Change. If not, both of those will be worked on at school tomorrow (it's a blue day again, so I'll have plenty of free time) and put up as soon as I get home.

Vincent smiled at his three-year-old son. "Ciel, would you come with me, please?"

Rachel gave him a knowing look as Ciel obediently got up and came toward him. Vincent picked him up (he was so small that it was hard to resist the temptation) and carried him into one of the empty sitting rooms, where he set Ciel on his lap.

"Ciel?" he started.

Ciel gave him an inquisitive look.

"Have you ever noticed that there's something you can do, maybe even multiple things, that you haven't ever seen anyone else do?"

Ciel seemed to think about it for a moment. Then he whispered, "Maybe. I'm not sure. But I don't think anyone else can. No one else seems to know the things I know sometimes."

"That's good, Ciel," Vincent smiled at the boy. "That's very good. You see, Ciel, you can do something no one else can do. I don't know what it is. Your mother doesn't know what it is. Most likely, even Tanaka doesn't know what it is. But you can do it."

Ciel looked at him with wide eyes.

"All nobles can do something that no one else can, you see," Vincent explained. "All of us have a special power that they can use. Sometimes multiple special powers. Because, Ciel, we're something special."

Ciel opened his mouth to say something. "I can -"

Vincent quickly covered his mouth. "No, don't tell me. Don't tell anyone, Ciel. Not even your mother knows what I can do, and I don't know what your mother can do. No one tells anyone else. Do you understand, Ciel?"

Ciel nodded.

"But there is one thing you should do," Vincent continued.

Ciel looked at him curiously. "What?"

"Use your power," Vincent said seriously. "Use it as often as you can without being noticed. Test your limits, try something you've never done before, stretch yourself. But never stop using your power."

Ciel smiled at him. "I won't, Daddy. I promise."

Vincent smiled at him, too. "Good, Ciel. Test yourself. Someday, you'll be able to do great things with your power." He let Ciel down. "Go on and keep playing, then."

Ciel smiled at him again and nodded, then ran off, presumably to continue his play. Vincent stared after him for a moment with a small smile.

"I may not know what you can do, Ciel," he whispered. "But I do know that, whatever it is, you can do great things with it."

All done! That turned out fairly well for how much time went into it. Short, but good enough, I think. Just a brief outline and - bam! This came out. Yay! Please review!

*Edit: For those of you who haven't seen the stories where this is mentioned (which is most of them), Ciel's special ability is empathy and emotional manipulation. And psychic shielding, so other people with empathic/mind reading type abilities can't use it on him.
