As always Harry Potter belongs to J.K.

The First Broom Ride:

In a large warm library a father and daughter both sat reading their individual books, both glued to the pages before them. The sun was slowly beginning to set and the orange glow peered through the heavy dark curtains. Snow covered the grounds outside the library making it feel that much cozier. After an hour the man rose from his seat setting the book on the table and stretching before turning to the little girl.

"Henley, are you going to stay in here and read a while longer" A man questioned the five year old who was curled up in the chair with a children's book reading avidly. He smiled at her devotion to the book she had been given to read for the week.

"Yes Please daddy" she smiled toothily looking back at the book of fairytales resuming the story she was wrapped up in. She loved reading about the mermaid princess and the sorceress queens. The stories always grabbed hold of her mind and made playtime funner the next day.

In the corner a shiny brown broomstick was propped against the wall. As entertaining as the book was the shiny broom continually caught little Henley's eye as she glanced at it nervously. She had been to plenty of Quidditch matches and knew what it was for, what the players did on them. Glancing around the room nervously she returned to her book attempting to forget the shiny broomstick in the corner. As hard as she tried she could not forget the broomstick, but she looked back down at the book again and resumed her story.

Five minutes later her eyes were re-glued to the broom looking away she jumped out of the chair and looked both ways out the hallway before closing the large oak door with a toothy grin planted across her face. Before walking over to the broom, it was much larger than her but that was the least likely thing to cross her mind as she set it on the ground still grinning madly. Holding her hand out.

"UP" she commanded giggling as the broom snapped into her hand. Excitement building up she put a leg over the broom and pushed herself in the air, hovering over the dark carpet. Leaning to the side she turned and floated up a little higher. Finally she was confident enough to push forward and make slow circles around the library. Her green eyes were wide with sheer joy, as she made her circle a little bit faster. After what seemed like an eternity she was flying speedily around the library giggling wildly. Just as she came to another circle the door opened scaring the little girl to the point she fell.

There were many places in that room she could have fallen and received no physical damage, Henley however was not that lucky. As she fell to the ground she landed on a soft, but evil cushion. Just as she landed a loud hiss echoed through the room followed by a little girls cries.

"Maammaa!" she screamed running to the figure in the doorway.

"Henley Rose Vallejo what on earth did you think you were doing?" Isabel tried to be stern before picking the five year old up. "You will laugh about this someday, but for now you know not to fly with merlin in the room. Right" Henley nodded tears still filled her eyes as she walked out of the room scratched up by her Father's evil cat.
