[Rainfall]
.a poem by a girl who never writes poetry.
You were talking nonsense
As I held you in my
Arms,
Glancing 'round
So frantically,
You shouldn't be
Alarmed.
(the rain starts falling)
But, no, you would not listen,
As stubborn as you are;
Babbling like
A little kid,
You run away . . .
So far.
(it doesn't want to stop)
Enveloped
By lone darkness,
We sit and watch the stars.
It's a miracle that they might
Shine so bright
From far.
(flickered cracks of lightning)
Butterflies are
Flashing by
Like stages
Of your life;
Fluttering on broken wings
And shocked out
By the light.
(booming howls of thunder)
Rose leaf,
Petals,
Stem,
And thorns
Create one plant alike,
Yet sure to
Surface afterward's
A great and
Mighty fight.
(animal in pain)
Yet flower's beauty's
Nothing
Next to other
Precious things,
Those of which I cannot
Lose;
To which I
Tightly cling.
(and wrenching agony)
Crying out
And sobbing
And other
Desperate acts,
Never argue with death's hand;
It swallows up your
Tracks.
(it whimpers for the love)
Hungry for the
Power of
A million burning souls,
They grasp at straws
And cut the strings
And haul you to the coals.
(they yearn but don't receive)
Little things are
Everything
To periled minds
Within,
But all it is
Is words undone and
Heartless
Greedy
Sins.
(and takes the breath)
Letting go
Is only hard
If you stoke the flames
At first;
It only makes it so
That when
You say goodbye
It's worst.
(of dying men so willingly)
So goodbye, lover,
Say goodnight,
As trumpets call their horns;
Whisper on
To brighter days
And wake
After the storm.
(the rain keeps falling)
You know the Annie's tired when she starts writing really bad, really angsty Charladay poetry. Argh.
Uh...Happy Valentine's Day? o.o -totally not the most appropriate piece for the occaision, but whatever-
(You know, I few weeks ago I recall having an idea for a Valentine's Charladay oneshot. And now I really wish I'd written it while I still had the inspiration and chance, because I remember that it was really cute and adorable and all. But I guess Charlotte's dead now, anywho, so it doesn't matter. -sigh-)
Review.
