NC 17 for extreme and well-defined violence, small arms, alcohol, drugs, strong language, mass murder, and references to S&M and weird sex.
Once again, I can't express my heartfelt thanks to Fiction.Is.Life for beta reading my fic. Part two is dedicated to her.
So here's the second part of the Path of Destruction series and it's post NFA. I'll do my best to update weekly but I can't promise anything.
You can also find pics for this fic by visiting my DeviantArt profile via my fanfiction profile.
Anyway, feedbacks and comments will be deeply appreciated. Thanks.

Part 1 has been modified slightly, so if you guys want to start at the very beginning, you should go visit it.
Disclaimer: I don't own any of Joss' characters nor do I own the Buffyverse. I'm not making any money out of this, etc… This is for fun and imagination only.
Prologue
Previously….
2005
It's been almost two years since Angel's attack on the circle of the Blackthorn and since then Connor has been looking for answers on what had happened to him. After several months of fruitless searching and dead ends, Connor's attempt at searching for his biological father came to a grinding halt when he encountered information that told him of an upcoming demonic war. And the worst thing about it was that the demon gods from Qourtoth were involved.
Mobilizing to intercept additional information to find Angel's help, Connor stumbled upon a renegade sorcerer, named Lawin de la Vega, who claimed to work for a number of powerful immortal mages that had been the original architects of the Slayer line. He was apparently sent to spy on Connor, and perhaps even kill him.
The first encounter didn't end well, for Connor's would-be assassin was betrayed by his own masters without any apparent reasons, and the two departed in the worst of terms.
As for Connor, he wanted to ignore the impending destruction, but as soon he started to turn his back, he was contacted by another enigmatic character who claims to work for the powers that be. This was Malachi and he promised Connor information about Angel if he would help him stop the group of demon gods from Quoroth, the Kluthu, from entering this world. Connor was scared but he was willing to listen.
Summoning Lawin who was now being hunted by his former employers and giving him a more pleasant alternative if he defected, Malachi sent Lawin and Connor to the Sunnydale crater to stop the demonic incursion. It worked, but unfortunately, one of the demon gods from Quortoth, the Kluthu, Marastoth, managed to get through. This particular Kluthu had a strong interest in Connor, going as far as even referring to him as "Messiah."
Unknown to Connor and Lawin however, Malachi was actually in league with Marastoth, and he had planned Marastoth's arrival, and with the consent of the powers.
Soon after, natural disasters and plagues began erupting all over the world as Marastoth and another demonic army that called itself the Horde fought each other with relentless but subtle savagery.
Soon, several slayers began disappearing. People became sick of some unknown strain of disease. Cities suffered from earthquakes and inexplicable thunder storms. The pattern was erratic but there was a pattern there... if one knew where to look.
A part of this pattern became obvious when Laurence became infected by the Kluthu plague. The Reilly had become a target. This brought Connor back into the fight despite his unwillingness.
On other fronts, it turned out that it was actually the first evil that was causing the plague. Somehow, it had stolen the plague from Marastoth and was now using it to further its own plans, one of which was to harm Connor Reilly' family. This did not sit well with the Kluthu demi-god who had different plans for Connor and his powers and who was laboring toward different goals.
Elsewhere, Lawin had a close brush with death and he was lead to an unexpected source of information in the form of a watcher/double agent named Aidan Travers. This watcher was actually involved with the darker parts of the watcher's council back in the day when they were still at their prime and the best part about it was that Aidan, aside from being a watcher, was also a necromancer.
Lawin wanted information and so he captured Aidan to find out what he knows.
Malachi, the self proclaimed servant of the powers, meanwhile had a problem. Someone or something was messing with his plans, sending anonymous messages and information wherever they could do some good and keeping close tabs on his targets. This someone turned out to be Whistler and the two ended up fighting at the latter's hideout. It ended with Malachi's pyrrhic victory, for Whistler managed to escape.
Dawn Summers, now a college coed at UCLA, was not spared from the problems. En route to a private airport owned by the council, to be evacuated from LA, her convoy was attacked by demons and she was forced to flee into unknown territory – her fate unknown.
As various forces fight and slaughter each other, Connor's true power is poised to be unleashed and with it, the destruction of all things…
Main Cast:
Connor Angel/The Miracle Child/The Destroyer/Connor Reilly/Steven Holtz/Tracey's Bitch (Demon and Conservative Republican) – Raised in Quortoth, Connor Steven Franklin Reilly Holtz Angel is an unknown paradox of limitless power and potential. He was taught magick by the Kluthu with the aim of corrupting him. Luckily for him, it failed as Holtz managed to wipe out all the corruption done to him along with all his warlock knowledge. After a great struggle, Connor soon returned to LA to find his real father Angelus.
In LA, he fathered Jasmine, boinked Cordelia, sank Angel into an ocean and precipitated a lot of terrible things, and once again had his memories wiped out to protect him from himself. But that was only temporary and soon Connor was returned all of his original memories – the ones wiped out by Angel and the ones wiped out by Holtz - along with the dark powers that he tried so hard to suppress.
Here and now, Connor faces the past that he tried so hard to leave and in doing so he will take one step closer to the singular and lonely choice that is fated to change creation.
Lawin De La Vega (Sorcerer and Libertarian) – is a powerful sorcerer from an ancient yet very amoral family of mages. A libertarian by politics and a Gnostic by creed, Lawin can either be very amoral or very compassionate depending on his mood or his alcohol levels.
He learned magicks before he learned to walk thus, he is very proficient in its uses. The only downside is that his powers tend to be unstable and causes bodily harm after prolonged use. In addition to his powers, Lawin also has a voice inside of his head of one of first ancestor, a condition that is slowly driving him insane.
Lawin also has an unnatural taste for chick music, and listens to Michelle Branch, Kelly Clarkson, Dido, Sara Evans, etc… Lawin also has a strong drinking habit and is often seen sucking out the contents of his alcohol flask.
Originally, he worked for a council of mages known as the ancients, super humans who were the original architects of the Slayer line as well as several other mystical weapons. This went to an abrupt halt however, when Lawin was betrayed by his masters after their leader, Rukash sided with the invading demon lord, Vorathon.
His close encounters with Connor and Malachi has made his life a lot more complicated.
Aidan Travers (Necromancer and Loves Pax Britannia) – A Heavily Medicated Kiwi Watcher. Somewhat xenophobic, Aidan has a deep distrust of foreigners particularly of "bloody yanks" and Australians. Aidan is also an artificial necromancer, one of the products of the council's secret attempts at creating supersoldiers to fight the demon world.
Despite his choleric disposition and the amount of meds he sticks down his throat, Aidan is quite intelligent. He has memorized a significant number of national anthems from around the world and is amenable to singing them when he's drunk.
He is also a dedicated gamer, often foregoing his researching duties to play world of warcraft or badly made flash games from porno sites. On the plus side however, he has extensive field experience… something he'll need in the coming conflict.
With the old council gone, Aidan is seen as somewhat of an anachronism of an age long past by his fellow watchers, something to be admired though feared at the same time.
Aidan is also a double agent and is secretly being controlled by the remnants of the old council, acting as a spy on their behalf and leaking valuable information from Giles to the others.
This situation went terribly out of control when he stumbled upon information that hinted of a possible demonic invasion.
Malachi – a soldier-fanatic, Malachi works for the powers that be, much in the same function as Doyle and Whistler. However, his line of work is much grayer and consists of making sure that the "greatest good" is achieved, regardless of the cost.
Malachi is no longer human even though he appears as one. He is now more of an artificial construct created by the powers to serve their ends, a mission that he sees through with fanatical zeal. This fanatical conviction was pushed to the limits when Malachi made very secret alliance of convenience with the Kluthu god Marastoth. Though distasteful to him, Malachi saw this as a necessary evil in order to fight an even greater threat: The Destroyer.
Marastoth – His name translates to the laughter of suffering. Marastoth is one of the three hellgods who were imprisoned in Qourtoth many eons ago. He was also responsible for some of Connor's training and taught him much about the powers of the dark abyss.
Marastoth is somewhat of an optimist. This outlook causes him to believe in Connor as a messiah who has come to deliver the entire universe from the madness that it has plunged itself into. This makes him willing to do anything as long as it involves "pointing" Connor to the direction of his destiny.
He also happens to be very gregarious and fun loving. He is a fan of Desperate Housewives, Melrose Place and Sex and the City….
Tracy – Marginally insane, Traey Chapman was a goth-vegan-bully-white-girl-with-issues in high school. By some freakish cosmic joke, she and Connor Reilly once had a wild and weird relationship in highschool which involved her beating him up, making out with him, having sex with, arguing with him, breaking up with him, making up with him and soft core S&M.
She fondly refers to Connor as her "Bitch."
At the moment, she is an art student studying in San Francisco and only returned to LA to visit Connor when his father was hospitalized. Unfortunately for her, she was drawn into the dark events that had descended upon LA and is now involved in something which she is not prepared for.
Thus spoke Marastoth, High God of Quortoth and the Kluthu'kar… on his Facebook after his account was closed on MySpace after an incident that involved cross dressing transsexuals and the Anglican Church.
Hey guys. This my first post and it's also an update on Connor.
I know you expect Connor to start narrating stuff and everything but if you're here, I want you to hear my side of things. Honestly. Can you believe him? Can you believe all his existentialist horseshit? Dammit! The little son of a bitch just doesn't know how to stop feeling sorry for himself. I blame Holtz, personally and Angelus, emo bastards. Look at the kid, for chrissake! He sounds like something that came out Jane Austen's ass.
Yeah, I know that he's the messiah and everything, but dammit! The kid can be a real stiff-assed bore sometimes. Did you know that he's a republican? Shit! Just what the universe needs - another right wing demon. As if we don't have enough of those all over the godrotting world.
If it's not too much discomfort to you guys, I'd like to butt in for awhile, you know? Tell things from my point of view. Don't worry I ain't gonna infect you with no demon plague or nothin'. I promise… I just want to give you a little idea about how this entire mess started.
You see, to you humans, this war may seem like an awesome battle between good and evil. You know, Jerry Bruckheimer production. Marlon Brando and Anthony Hopkins in the lead roles. Michael Bay film. Explosions. Car chases. Cliché bad boy idiots with hearts of gold that fucks the prom princesses. But to us non-human types, it's just another day at the office.
Sure, a bunch of guys are going to get their asses kicked but, at the end of the day, there are no hard feelings… except maybe for you guys… who will lose your lives in a fiery holocaust of death and destruction. But it's nothing a little positive perspective can't fix right? Right? Come on! Am I the only one who watches Dr. Phil?
Okay, Never mind. Marastoth – you handsome Kluthu rebel you - what's up with the big ass demon war?
Well, it started gazillions of years ago… well, actually longer than that but you know what I mean. Me and my bro and sis were still top ranking hellgods – one of many actually – and there were all kinds of shit everywhere, you know? Genocide every week. War every lunch. There was screaming and orgies and the occasional blood bath, literally. But it got a little old and passé as time passed by.
You know what I mean. It's kinda like, Paris Hilton having sex with every guy in LA five times. It's cool for the first couple of days, sure. But believe me, do it too many times, and it starts to get old – fast. Kind of like masturbating just for the sake of it.
To make a long story short, we – my bro and sis - sorta decided that we… wanted to go really far with our careers. You know, change things. Introduce a new order… with us in the lead roles, of course. Were we greedy? Hell, yeah bitch. We're demons, duh! What followed was a nasty battle between us, and a bunch of other demons and the powers.
We were the noble rebels fighting a monolithic, fascist, despotic consortium of hellgods that colluded with the power that be. We were the federation, the rebel alliance, the A team. We fought hand and foot. We threw everything at them! Bang! Poom! Pow! Oh my God they killed Kenny! You bastard!
Hundred worlds incinerated. Billions souls lost. Yada Yada Yada. Spectacular light show. Oliver Stone style scenes! George Lucas shit….. Hmmm…. However, in the end, we lost, and we were imprisoned in Quortoth – which sucked by the way. The demons who imprisoned us there realized that they needed to contain the naughty Kluthu, and so they decided to turn Quortoth into a prison world and seal us there for all eternity by making sure that all the portals that lead there are forever closed.
Sucks like shit, huh?
Well, it does. That is until a cosmic accident happened. Do you know what this cosmic accident is?
Let me give you a clue. It has blue eyes, brownish-slightly blond hair and a prudish boy-next-door rape-me-ladies personality. Go on guess! We saw this boy's coming. We didn't know when or how he would arrive but we saw his power.
Some saw Connor as a great abomination… a cosmic mistake that had no right to exist. Vorathon, for example, sees him as the unknown - a disaster to flee from. Ditto with Malachi and the powers that be. Wolfram and Hart saw the power as well but they were too retarded to fully comprehend its full extent. The first evil is another fine example, its fear and hatred, driving it to make Connor kill himself.
To me though, Connor is the messiah come to free all creation from the madness it has plunged itself into… the eternal wars between good and evil, the petty agendas, and the little treacheries that gods, fates and demons inflict upon each other. Here was change. Here was new.
You see, the universe moves in cycles. We keep following the same trail over and over again. It sucks, really. It means that we're trapped in this eternal… whatever. And that includes everybody, from the mightiest demon lord to the lowest bacteria. That's why we need the messiahs. They're the ones who herald change. They're the ones who can free us from this cosmic joke we've gotten ourselves into.
Now, don't get me wrong. That sort of thing can cause a lot of blood shed and killings, and believe me guys, our little situation now is no different. Things are only going to get dirtier and dirtier until, you know… it all hits the defective cosmic china-made fan.
Welcome to the apocalypse bitch.
Peace yo!
